Thank you so much for adding lit candles to this piece. It turned out so well. ❤️ I used to think Himi gouache is really not that good, whenever I add lighter colours on darker colours, it turns out muddy or sometimes the lighter colour doesn't even show up at all. Guess, it's all about skill. You are amazing, your art always inspires me. ❤️

You're very welcome! I'm glad you enjoyed the addition of the candles. Working with gouache can indeed be tricky, it often takes practice and experimentation to achieve the desired result. Thank you so much for your kind words and support! Your encouragement means a lot to me. ❤️ Keep experimenting!

Thank you for sharing such a lovely and creative piece. If you ever have the space to share which parts are going on wet over wet vs wet over dry, that would be so helpful to beginners like me.☺
@MokStudio-Art4 ай бұрын
Thank you so much for your comment! I appreciate your kind words. To address your question, in this particular video, from 03:20 to 05:29, I used a higher water content in my paints, creating a watercolor-like effect. The purpose was to establish the overall tone of the composition without obscuring the initial sketch. For the rest of the video, the water content in my paints remained fairly consistent. It's important to adjust the paint consistency to a level where it flows smoothly on your brush. Of course, you can decide the wetness or dryness of the paint based on your desired effects in the artwork. Considering the nature of watercolor paints, if you need stronger coverage in certain areas, such as highlights or candlelight, you can reduce the amount of water in your paint mix to achieve better opacity. Remember, it's all about finding the balance that works best for your artistic vision. I hope this explanation helps! If you have any more questions, feel free to ask. Keep up the great work, and happy painting! 😊

@@MokStudio-Art Except this is gouache and therefore it's opaque, unlike watercolour, so you're really working in a different way. 🙏

I am mesmerized watching you paint etc. The way you know/ use your darks & lights you are like another Thomas Kincade ( I sincerely hope you do not mind the comparison, but your art did make me think of him).Query; do these picture come from your mind? Or I imagine you've got excellent sources for reference? You are inspiring me to get my pencils out to start practicing contour line drawing, which I put down many, many years ago. I've taken a class in drawing photo realism, and attended Pacific College of Art and Design, just as I started making my way as an illustrator computers were taking over. I never had any interest in learning computer graphics, as I preferred real eye/ hand 'old school ' art. The smell and feel of a new sheet of paper, holding and using my implements. I got kind of disgusted with computers, put my art supplies away and gave up. However in 2004 I let my mother introduce me to adult coloring books, she bought for me my first couple set of professional colored pencils, later water based markers, etc.. and I never looked back. Today my dining room serves as an art studio, where I color & paint every day. However...,you and just a few other artists have inspired me to start drawing again. Your art in paticular I find most inspiring!! Your painting with the gouache is really starting to egg me on😅 I apologize for being so verbose☺️ I guess I wanted you to understand just how impactful your beautiful art style has effected me, so from the bottom of my heart Thank You ❤🥰

Thank you so much for your lovely comment! 😊 I’m thrilled to hear that my art has inspired you and that you’re considering picking up drawing again. It’s wonderful to connect with fellow artists who appreciate the tactile joy of traditional mediums. 🎨 In response to your question about my work, I usually start with a rough sketch and then look for reference images online to refine my ideas. If you’re interested, this video might give you a better idea of my process. kzbin.info/www/bejne/d6uqnniAn9mJpq8 ,I, too, am more of an “old school” artist who loves the feel of traditional materials. 🖌️ I’m glad you enjoy my gouache painting videos! If you’d like, I also have some free printable practice sheets similar to adult coloring books in my tutorial series. Feel free to check them out. If you have any more questions or suggestions, don’t hesitate to reach out! 🌟kzbin.info/www/bejne/sF7Le6edhseMebs&pp=gAQBiAQB💬 Thank you again for your kind words and support! ❤️

How do you achieve such pigment? I recently started painting. Im a total beginner and i wonder if i could achieve similar clean, pigmented lines. Is it a matter of adding a bit of water to the paint?
@MokStudio-Art3 ай бұрын
Achieving vibrant pigment involves a bit more than just adding water to paint. It's a nuanced process involving color mixing. As a beginner, it might seem daunting at first. Colors straight from the palette can appear vivid but aren't always suitable for direct application. I suggest experimenting with mixing a few colors to familiarize yourself with watercolor. I'm actually working on a beginner-friendly tutorial on color mixing that might help you out. Stay tuned for that! ✨🌱

I have a question. Sometimes i have those tiny or unimportant things in my art that i keep just to fill in the place.. But when coloring, i can't decide what colors to use for those. I ended up ruining a few pieces of my art which i was really excited about because of this😢. Can you help me😢 Also, here I see you used green for wall and also green for plants. But they are distinguished perfectly. I struggle a lot with it
@MokStudio-Art29 күн бұрын
I totally get your struggle! When adding small or filler elements in your art, it's best to use colors close to those around them to make them less noticeable. For your second question, to differentiate between green for walls and plants, use varying shades and intensities of green. I used a low-saturation green with more gray for the walls, and a simpler, brighter green mixed with yellow for the plants. Hope this helps! ✨😊

With your painting skills,you could just paint those picture frames, so I'm not sure why you stick them on?
@sunshineandginger48813 ай бұрын
Maybe the artist enjoys using mixed media?
@MokStudio-Art3 ай бұрын
It's a great question! The reason I didn't paint the frames in this video is that I enjoy experimenting with different mediums and materials to create unique pieces that bring a fresh perspective to my art. When I came across the mini-paper frames, they inspired me to create scenes where I could incorporate them naturally. I hope this answers your question!😊

Also, in my humble experience, if you saw it in real life it would create a cool dimensionality. It’s subtle, but it would probably give it a slight 3D effect. I bet it would be really special in real life. The camera wouldn’t be able to capture that.
