How come you but a very watered colour down first then go over it? Does it not mix/smudge when you go back over it?

Hi! 😊 I use more water with gouache at the beginning to set a base tone for the painting. This helps me check if the color combinations are harmonious. At the same time, it allows me to see my pencil sketch more clearly with the watercolor-like transparency. As I refine the details, I adjust the colors to achieve the desired effect.Gouache dries quickly, so with the right technique, it doesn’t mix or smudge the colors. Hope this helps! 🎨✨
