Personally, I agree with the idea that Al opened the water gate temporarily and caused the flood. Notably, while the flood caused a lot of damage to the city, I don't think it caused a lot of human casualties due to the fact that the evacuations to the shelters had already been completed and reportedly the city has a lot of precautions against flood related disasters, so I assume the shelters are magically flood proof. However, it did seemingly serve to break up the fight with Capella and force Capella to abandon the government building in order to reinforce her tower which seemingly was infiltrated in her absence since the flood I'm assuming came from her gate based off the conversation with Regulus. As a result, Subaru's group has retaken the government building and the metia within that allows them to communicate with the rest of the city, and I'm not sure that they would have successfully taken it in a battle of attrition. Now they can at least keep it away from Serius and maybe even it use it with Lilliana to combat Serius. Also, on another note, it was stated that Emilia couldn't leave the tower because then Regulus would flood the city in earnest if she did most likely, so the best she can do right now is snoop around and gather intelligence.

The reason Emilia doesn't simply run away is because her instincts are telling her to comply with Regulus because she could tell he was extremely powerful since the moment she woke up. Now, after seeing Regulus try to kill one of his wives simply on a whim, she fears for what would happen to the wives if she were to actually escape.

(Season 2 related content) Echidna isn’t connected to the Witch Cult; when Subaru first met her he actually asked her about the Cult and she didn’t really know much. When she saw Regulus in Emilia’s trial, she was mildly intrigued because he’s the one who inherited her Witch Factor, though that’s pretty much the known extent of her interest. She’s basically off doing her own thing now. She is close with the five other dead witches and has their souls with her, so it is a popular theory that she may want to revive her friends, however if that is a goal of hers then she won’t be using the Cult to achieve that.

The Priscilla interaction before she saves Subaru from the beasts in this episode is so fun, because if this was arc 2, it would have been a death point. Notice how she only saves him after he shows his resolve, meaning that it was a test of sorts and he just passed it right away, if he didn't he'd have died

My theory for the dragon blood in Subaru is this: yes the dragon blood has healing properties and that is why his new leg heals so fast, but it also has a curse that if for example anyone who is not royal blood uses it, it would transform him but since Subaru already has a curse (the ulgarm curse from season 1) the new curse is battling it and can't do it's thing to Subaru and that is why only the super healing effect of the blood is acting on his body

So the dragon's blood is kind of like a curse which is why at the beginning you saw the dragon('s blood) fighting with the season 1 mabeasts bc their curse is still in his body, it was just never activated bc all the mabeasts were murdered. So now those 2 curses are fighting over subaru's body which ended up weakening the dragon's curse which is why subaru honestly came out with just a cool dragon fleshy leg while Crusch, who was curse free before, is not doing so well

Genuine question, why are we assuming Capella is acting like a royal and that she isn’t just the actual Emerada Lugunica? Like, if she wanted to mock the royals, why use the form of some rando royal that only old people like Willheim would know about? She could just pretend to be the dead queen or kidnapped princess we suspect Felt to be. I’m not saying she is definitely her, I wouldn’t be surprised if in Cepalla’s backstory it turned out she had some sort of personal relationship with Emerada. I just don’t think the possibility of them being the same person is of the table yet.

The outcome of Dragon Blood inside Subaru's body and Crush's body ( also the other ) are different cuz of Subaru's authority/body, in the other words that Subaru resisted to Dragon Blood better than everyone cuz he's also have another curse inside him from Mabeast in season 1 and that curse blocking Dragon Blood fully consuming Subaru, that's why we saw "them" fighting in the first scenes of the episode, i mean Mabeast curse no intention to help Subaru, it's just Mabeast curse and Dragon Blood curse are tangled together inside Subaru, ....... negative minus negative equals positive...... win win to Subaru...........
