You could also place 4 scaffolding with water on top so they spawn and get moved when they spawn.. many mob farms use scaffolding

Note: to increases spawns, see the chunk the hut is located in, add a floor if there is water, and light that chunk, I don't know exactly why do this but it is so important

@@fodk7021 no, that wasn't spawn proofing, and I know what I am saying, he said replace any water block, although water only spawns drowneds, and drowneds are surface mobs, while structure spawns are considered cave spawns, but that actually increases rates, it must be spawn able but lighted block, so slabs, glass won't work, and I did it in my survival world to follow the tutorial, but didn't feel exactly anything, but in skyblock, where I built the witch farm but didn't fill the chunk, I didn't get spawns, and I wondered, because there is only the spawn able block for the witches, then I remembered that step, and did it and the farm worked like a dream

Thought I'd give this farm a go and for some reason instead of pushing the witches into the water stream it pushes them into the blocks to the left of the spawn spot 🤔

@@tyrantgaming6352 I'm was having the exact same issue, using a solid glass block it would push them to the side instead of to the corner. I put in a glass pane in the corner above the spawn point and it does a better job of pushing them in...but some still get stuck and I think that hurts the rates :(

Foxy why not just use trident killer at the witch hut, they will be insta pushed into the trident cuz of the block at head height and you wont even need to swing your sword for looting, btw love your videos

Tinted glass as a structure block, save for the spawning spot, will allow spawns while keeping the entire hut and water column spawnable.

If you take the small amount of time to convert your villagers and then turn them back, you'll make life alot easier for yourself Maybe in a stream??? Love the farm btw

Well I don't need a toturial anymore cause just a simple look at it u can already build it by just looking at it and the resources pack that I downloaded I can't see my enchantment sword if I put it in my main hand but if I open my inventory I can see there enchantment not outside is it because I have another resources pack but even if I put just your resources pack the name of my sword doesn't show up

I can think of no reason to farm witches in 1.17. Everything they drop is farmable by other means that are way more productive

@@foxynotail well, potions can be farmed with dripstone and cauldron (but I’m not sure your setup will get you very many potion drops?). Ghast farms are good for gunpowder, piglins barter water bottles/ potions (for bottles). The only thing I can think of that witches drop is glowstone and redstone (but I don’t really have a use for glowstone dust)

Well I have lots of use for glowstone such as redstone lamps, lighting and automatic potion brewers. Also, you can't get empty bottles in this capacity from any other farm, and they're very useful for honey farms. You can't get redstone from other farms so this is ideal for that, and ghast farms are so much more complicated to build that this is a really cheap and easy way to infinite gunpowder. Also sticks for trading... Also sugar without tonnes of pistons/observers and crafting... What other farm, requires no redstone, can be fully afk, without any interaction required and gives you all of these items in this quantity, lag free? The answer is none. Witch farms are just as relevant in 1.17 as they always have been. However I understand not everyone plays the way I do, so people will have other opinions. But opinions unfortunately don't win over facts 😛😉

@@foxynotail I do have witch farm, but it’s never given me great rates (even with looting III) - I understand that a lot of this is personal preference (and having a renewable source of red stone is certainly useful). I’m just saying that I almost never use the witch farm that I have (because it’s only really useful to me for red stone and the rates aren’t that great. But you are correct that is personal preference :-)
