Even the fast reloading is accurate; a well drilled person could fire 3 to 5 rounds a minute.

I haven’t played the game in a while, but when I played that scenario (forgot the name of it), I remember it was only available for about a month. But man, that really turned the game into something new! I only played about 3 long attempts of it at the time, but I remember legit catching myself scream a couple of times from some tense moments.

I remember finding this game about 2 years ago and liking it a bunch, so it's nice seeing you play it as well. Also I hope you don't mind me repeating what I said on an older video, but I recommend checking out Voices of the Void. It's a really sweet job simulator horror game, and I know you like those, where you look for signals from deep space. It's both relaxing and terrifying with its atmosphere and I feel it could make for a nice video. Anyways, good content as always!

I don't know if the weird goat thing was intentional, but it was just SO cinematic and creepy. Also, the whisperers are my fav thing about this game. "See, Folks around tell all sorts'a bullshit about the supernatural, since they don't know any better. They wants some way to control what they can't understand, see? Course, after a few years and near-death experiences, see, ya tends ta' sort out the crap from the truth. You mays even get cocky. Well, Tha's what I tell ya - Don't get cocky. What them old ladies don't tells ya about are the Whisperers. Them ain't like any of the werewolves or anythin' that you know, see? And if ya thought Vampires is the top dog among the dark creatures, well, you're wrong. You kinda gets used to them all, see? But not to them Whisperers. Them you treats with respect. There ain't no garlic, moonwater, red string, no fuckin' crucifix that stops them. They just shrugs it off like warm piss. If ya is alone in the woods and hears whispers, or sees someone standing far away in the dark, ya turns around, see? NO questions. Not even the lord himself can save ya if ya gets too close."

I think those crosses at the bridge are meant to spiritually protect the town, not mark graves. It would be a lot easier (and safer) to carry bodies back to town for burial than dig a grave within the forest. But considering the amount of undead, it's _even more_ likely that bodies aren't being carried back at all, but abandoned.

As someone who’s studied the North American witch hunts, what you said at the start about people fearing the treeline is absolutely true. Many puritan Colonists believed that beyond the hills and Forest lived Satan himself. To many a Christian, the native American spirit worship seemed too similar to what they believed Satan worship was. There was a series of wars that between native Americans and British colonialists around the same time as a the Salem witch trials, these wars killed A LOT of pioneers. On top of this, life was hard anyways. Which only added to pressures Imagine being a colonist: the hills are filled with Satan worshiping strange men who you constantly hear stories of them butchering people you know. Then you hear stories of people from your home back in England being caught practicing spells. Then, your regularly bad harvest is worse due to rot. And your pastor (who is likely the only source of education you will ever get) tells you that now these Satan worshippers are in our community destroying our crops. To them, the treeline represented death. The source of crop killing magic, the home of Satan worshippers both foreign and known to you. they really fucking feared the treeline

I'd definitely like to see more of this! Also, along the same lines as this game, could I recommend 'Sir, You Are Being Hunted'? It's also a horror-hunting-simulator, except a large part of the time you are, well, the one being hunted instead. It also has a comedy slant and survival-RPG mechanics, which I don't think take away from the genuinely oppressive and spooky atmosphere of misty moors, abandoned villages, and cold & menacing robots and stuff; I think they add to it, in fact, what with horror and comedy being intrinsically linked and survival mechanics really adding to the pressure and fear you feel (much as money/mana management do in this game). I believe it is being remastered very soon too (they use the term 'Reinvented' if you want to look it up), possibly before the end of this year even, so it's very good timing if you want to wait for that, or instead to play the original then compare it with the new one soon after.

I think the developers just set it in the 1700s because they thought it was cool, or that witch hunting was a common practice at that time period. I love how games want to be historical just because but then it’s completely not phistorically accurate. Don’t get me wrong, I love this game, the setting, weapons, spooky woods and creatures and village. But yeah it just irritates me when people go: we’ll we’re making a game set in 1718 or whatever, but yeah let’s just make everyone talk like their from 2020.” Aka the medicine man in the church saying the word “probably,” which didn’t exist in the English language at this time. Which also by the way, witch hunting around the world ended by 1750 to a dead halt and stopped. So I don’t know if this just took inspiration from the Salem witch trails, or just wanted it to be in a period where witch hunting actually didn’t exist anymore. I don’t know. I’m sorry I know my comment seems rude, it just irks me when games, movies, anything just try to change history.
