probably one of my favorite boss fights of from The Witcher. Found him to be more of a challenge than Eredin himself. Although his mechanics were quite repetetive, the other reason why, is that you can finally kill the fucker that killed Vesemir.

His frost coating makes your attacks less effective so be sure to burn if off with the Igni sign to maximize your damage output. Use Thunderbolt for extra damage and Tawny oil for faster Stamina regen. Quen is the key for survival.

adii665 You're right this was the best in the main quest that's what people are saying I'm currently fighting him so I don' t really know yet just seems like everyone's favorite. Even if it makes sense story wise that Imlerith is the hardest I still think that they should've at least saved him for last or made the other enemies at least as good as him. I heard that the rest of the game is kinda a breeze is that true? Oh well at least it slowly got harder even if it reached it's peak at the middle of the game. Unlike The Witcher 2 which started hard and just got easier and easier the further you got through the game.

Benjot Sumal I have played it on the second difficulty. At first it was hard for me (the controls... i play with mouse and keyboard, and well it was nothing like skyrim :D took a great time to get used to for me) but after a while it just got easier. I used a heavy armored build with heavy attacks. Now im planning a death march playthrough but on that difficulty that build wont work. + i want to do it in other ways so the ending will be different. :P

Most games today are like a character or a machine deal damage using some weapons, that's all, this concept is not likely to change. This fight was pretty good, fun, and hard too. By the way, dark soul is not very hard, blood borne was not very hard either, in fact, no game is hard because they are all offline game and the AI can easily be defeated if you spend time to take notes of the AI partern in stead of trying to fight the AI over and over again.

ahah ihih But bloodborne and the souls games have an online component. But yeah you can predict the AI that's why it's crucial to give them many different behaviors that way you learn more about your enemy the more you fight them. I think the main reason people think the souls games are hard is because of their checkpoint system. You have to confront a lot of enemies before you get to the boss fight again. Although I just run past them if I have to fight a boss again.

Boss Fight Database Quen is a life saver but still you have to time your dodge otherwise he will kill you fast. Though I did not need it, Tawny oil will help regen stamina much quicker and thus allow you to use Quen more frequently to avoid his hits.

This fight on Death March can be rough if you don’t know what you’re doing. Quen is 100% your best friend, along with the Swallow and Blizzard potions (healing and slowing time respectively). Took me two tries, and the second one I was quite literally on 1 HP when I did manage to beat him. Extremely satisfying revenge fight though.

I have actually gotten to this point without making any potions that weren't part of a quest. I think I've made 4? Because they were required. It's not necessary to use potions, but some people prefer them. I like a challenge and most fights were so easy so I just disregarded potion making.

I beat him on normal the first try. I rarely use quen because I didn't want to become dependant on it like in Witcher 2. Yrden (alternate version), food, rolling, and using quen a couple times worked. That good is what saved my life though. I don't like using potions often because it takes away the challenge and makes everything too easy. Still a tougher boss for sure. Wish I fought him with Ciri the whole time.

I've yet to find a single video where people tell Imlerith "Yeah, she's here." I said it to him because I was fully confident that I'd beat him (and I turned out to be *barely* right). Imlerith then says "You fought well at the ruined keep. To the bitter end. I trust you will do the same here and not disappoint me" or something to that effect. And his voice changes when he puts on the helmet, so the last sentence sounds like a freight train. It's badass. Didn't even think to use Yrden on him, and now I'm glad I didn't. I wanted to fight him as equals. Yrden feels like it'd have been a step too far.

i did this boss at death march with no potions no signs no nothing just the sword and dodging...true challange...

I got him to half hp normally and then started to whirl behind him like a helicopter till he died. Completely skipped the second phase, didn’t even have a chance to teleport (all this on death march). Felt really bad after the fight cause i kinda cheated

Geralt was in the same situation than Vesemir, seized from the throat by Imlerith, and i always thought why Vesemir didnt use Igni like Geralth? With that could be a different history.

Mario Eduardo Quintanar Galeas however with vesimir, there was caranthir and eredin nearby. I doubt they would have let vesimir use any trick on imerith.

Yashvin Tackoory Well, he could try to fight back, not that pity full stab in the ribs, at least he could try to stab Imlerith in his throat. But well... i want to think that Vesemir did that to prevent Ciri to not to try to save him, so she did not get caught.
