1. Enchant all the weapons you’re going to use and add sockets 2. Put all the weapons you want to use in New Game + in the stash (if you leave them on shelves In Corvo Bianco, they will disappear) 3. 7. is not correct the way you put it, Hen Gaidth steel sword does not scale with your level, it will have the level at which you pick it up and stay like this (unlike Aerondight). I didn't pay attention to this (it's also explained in the video) and ended up with a pretty useless Hen Gaidth, picking it up too early.

One thing I failed at was eating the golden egg on my playthrough from Land of a Thousand Fables, for the Magic acorn you can go back to Bald Mountai at any point of game even after completing Blood and wine to get your extra 2 skill points I think that corpse stays there forever, but for Egg it's your only chance to get that 1 extra skill point :(

Mate his build is kinda weak though, I'm level 50 with 15000 vitaly, I crit 16k with strong attacks using light armor XD He sure is dedicated though

@@linuslindstrom965 Bullshit. This build is maxed and optimised Euphoria. You do not do 16k with regular strikes at this level. You could hit more against weak enemies with no upscaling, or you're misreading the DPS screen because Killing Spree overcalculates. Plus, if you think that 15k Vitality is either good or necessary, you don't understand how resistances work so I can't take you seriously anyway.

@@DPhoenix237 Resistances are good and neccesary yes, but with light armor it's definitely neccesary to have somewhat higher hp due to the fact that on deathmarch with enemy upscaling you get cucked if you miss a dodge. And with 2x60% atk dmg from mutagens, euphoria at 196% with 4 decoctions and 2 potions with aerondight, catschool armor skill, rend heavy attack into stacking 10 stacks on aerondight I literally critted 16.4k.

@@linuslindstrom965 16K with 10 charges on Aerondight is not a 'regular' strong attack 🤣 You're wrong on about 5 different levels here, at least: 1. You only have 2 Greater Red Mutagens; I have 4. 2. You have the Feline gear, so that's +75% or so damage? I have +75% Critical hit damage. This is actually better because regular attack bonuses scale with diminishing returns on critical hits because of how the damage formula works. 3. You only have 196% Euphoria boost...I have 210%. Or 240% with Skill Switching, whichever you prefer. 4. You are using paper-thin feline armour. This means you have to dodge more and also HAVE to keep Quen up because it'll break in one hit versus anything except Wraiths. If not, you'll lose you Aerondight bonus and Water Hag decoction damage if you get scratched. You'll also need to heal and that wastes time, and you need to dedicated skill slots to increase your Vitality just so that you don't die in one hit from some enemies. 5. Conversely, I have 100% damage resistance to the main damage types, and high Piercing and Bludgeoning resistance to boot. Quen takes multiple hits, meaning no wasted time dodging and no having to heal. Aerondight won't lose its charges and Water Hag decoction is virtually always active. I also don't need Deflection, so my stamina regeneration is just as high. I also don't lost Adrenaline, and build it much, much quicker than you because of the Ursine chest. The Mantcore boots also let me have higher toxicity and give the option of 4 full decoctions, plus 20 point potions on top. I also have more skill slots for useful skills because the resistances mean I'm not wasting slots on Tissue Transmutation, Undying or Endure Pain etc, if I so choose. Basically, you think that this build (the best in the game) is somehow weak, ex ept you have less damage, considerably less critical hit damage, and worst of all jo defensive utility. In practical terms this means that you're having to spend more time dodging, healing and keeping Quen up. You are losing theoretical damage/DPS AND much more practical damage, whilst having a squishy glass-cannon build instead of a virtually invulnerable one. So theres your 'weaker' build. All you have is a very basic 2016 Feline build...run-of-the-mill and supremely outclassed. Sorry man 🤷‍♂️

Another tip: make sure to craft the Superior Northern Wind. It's disgustingly overpowered and can let you kill nearly any enemy with one punch (huge timesaver when fighting Elementals, Gargoyles and Golems)

The full, original build video (and the pinned post on it) covers the build details and nuances, and there is a Reddit post linked to that. The New Game Plus walkthrough then includes information on completing the build on New Game Plus, and shoes the further improvements that I made to it. Most notably, using the 4 Decoctions + 20 point potions version, which utilises Aard Sweep and the Ancient Leshen decoction for utility and huge stamina regeneration boosting.

Dude, I started NG+ in a wicked way, before going I destroyed all my potions, No currency, cleared all my inventory personal and my stash, completely cleared my stash, removed all four greater mutagens from my skills, went to NG+ with a full Moon armor set with deflected arrows and the only weapon I took was the aerondighte silver sword... I got say man, I'm loving it, prove to be a well challenging playthrough for me and the moon set is a great suit for scavenging with that gold bonus... Like starting fresh but in a better way. As for Aerondight, there is what I call a Nekker farm in velen with like 20 nekkers that are great for charges and then an endrega swarm north of Novigrad. You can get all the charges for each level, at those locations.

Pro tip: Don't use Runewright for anything other than enchantment and buying diagrams for glyphs of mending and reinforcement. Greaters Glyphs of mending and reinforcements require "Master Craftsman" not specifically a runewright. You can have them crafted from both Hattori and Yoanna. You should have them crafted from Yoanna as she is in Velen so her prices are 40% lower than the Runewright and Hattori's prices are also lower than the runewright but not as much as Yoanna.

Very true! Hattori gives the highest prices outside of Toussaint, and crsfting costs are directly proportional to selling costs usually....except for the Runewright, who somehow manages to give lower prices for selling items whilst also being more expensive to craft with. What a bum! I covered that in my video about selling items late-game, as you can definitely save money by doing dismantling and crafting with Yoanna.

CDPR really provided a top knotch product. They went above and beyond, no doubt. That being said, certain things not being carried over into NG+ really piss me the frak off. The game is SO big, with SO much to do, in retrospect it almost makes me wish I didn't spend time collecting everything. I don't have the time to spend doing EVERYTHING. I'm 31, I gotta job and shit I want to do w my life. NG+ should allow you to focus wholly on the story, and within reason, allow you do to what you want, when you want. Level scaling should be optional, or at least modified. It drives me nuts that aaaall my GRANDmaster-crafted gear won't be worth anything as I progress in the game, once again forcing me to spend valuable time collecting gear/diagrams so I can *survive* the story, as opposed to just *enjoying* the story. Roach trophies OBVIOUSLY get transferred to NG+. I wanna rock that 15% gold pig trophie from the start and see how much $$ I can stack. Gwent cards OBVIOUSLY get transferred. This is a whole other game in and of itself. At first I was down, but as the story progressed, I became less and less willing to spend ANY time playing cards, but I DID, because I THOUGHT IT WOULD F****N TRANSFER. After I learned they don't transfer, once I started the expansion packs, I didn't do one gwent game (other than those required). What's the point? It's the end of the game. You won't use them, so fuck it. Bottom line, I just can't believe they have you do all this work - and again, a LOT of it at THE END, meaning you won't get a lot of use out of it - only to declare it worthless for you NG+. An AMAZING game/story, no doubt. One of the GOATs, for sure. But I feel these issues to be fairly pronounced black marks on an otherwise stellar product. Horizon Zero Dawn is the gold standard for NG+, if you ask me. Also, AC: Origins was on point in this regard. Oh, and great vid. Thank you very much!

Thanks for the kind words about the video! This is an interesting take, and I get where you're coming from. I don't agree with it myself, but this is more of a personal opinion. For Gwent, there are missable cards that make it difficult to get the Card Collector achievement on the first playthrough and New Game Plus gives people the opportunity to get them all whilst having a little more familiarity with Gwent. The gear resetting isn't a big deal for me because your Grandmaster gear can last you a long way into New Game Plus anyway; depending on your build you can use the Grandmaster Ursine chest for 25 levels or more if you want to. You'd only have to do one set of Witcher gear quests if you only want one specific set of Legendary Witcher gear if you want to save time. The trophies are irksome, yes, but they don't add a lot anyway. 15% Gold only applies to contract rewards and only amounts to a few thousand virtually-insignificant crowns. The Mutagenerator definitely should carry over though, 100% agree there. Overall I like New Game Plus because it lets you carry over some of the potentially tedious aspects, like virtually all alchemy carrying over, and the abilities and mutations remaining in place is great for making some interesting builds ☺

I can tell you off the bat; the only thing you can be prepared for in NG+ is be a completionist in your first run. Brew every potion, visit every location, find all extra skill points, have a good combat spec, and just be ready to replace your hard earned gear along the way.

i've finished the Witcher III goty Pc edition several times and i have used New game Plus before butt back in April 2019 was the first time i started the game with only blood & Wine and i wasn't sure it was possible to start New game plus as i was level 66 with the Aerondight @ 888 damage with choosing only the dlc's = it worked ! decided not to Save none of the gear because they were set with level 29 requirements ( think there set higher with + ) and the quests for acquiring the Witcher gears are Cool 🎮 either way hope this helps someone & Thanx for Posting 🇵🇹

Secondly, the gear here is considered light armour because I have the Runewright enchantment Levity on the chest piece; it makes everything light armour. You get he Level 41 Undvik set by visiting the Kaer Trolde Armourer when you are level 41 or over.

Recently I started replaying The Witcher 3 and down the line I also bought both the dlcs, cuz I had heard that they were good. Usually I'm not really dlc minded. Anyway, when I was still on my base game playthrough I thought to myself several times that this game lacked a house for Geralt, because I wanted to display my armour sets, like in Skyrim. Yesterday, I started the Blood and Wine dlc (Hearts of Stone was great btw) and at a certain point Geralt is given a deed and a key to a mansion. I was like, hmmm, I hope it has armour stands. I wasn't able to confirm this yesterday, as it was time to hit the hay, but watching this video has taken the doubt away! Awesome! After work I'll ride straight for my new mansion and put my mastercrafted Feline set, which I was able to replace with the Viper set from the 1st DLC, on display.

Did you find the hidden cavity in the cave north east of Novigrad near travel point Cavern? You can only see it on the radar, blow the wall out using Aard. I wonder how many hidden treasures there are in the game that nobody has discovered yet. And did you see the small luminescent crabs coming on shore? During all these hours I have only witnessed it once. They seem to appear at different locations (mine were near Beauclair castle) and it seems to happen very rare, most gamers never get to see them even once. Thanks for the tips!

Are you on PC? With that many playthroughs definately try modding (most of them you just put into 'mods' folder in TW3 directory and you're done), for the level problem I give you this one: "No Levels" on TW3 Nexus Mods, BE AWARE IT DOESNT WORK FOR NG+ YET, but there is no need because you can go anywhere you want on level 1, even skipping velen/novigrad (main) questlines and doing skellige/novigrad first. Anything you want. Same with DLC's but you need to unlock them (first one unlocks at hanged mans tree second after novigrad main questline)

There's the rest of the Hen Gaidth armour set, including a unique Relic sword that has the same equivalent bonuses as the Hen Gaidth steel sword. It's a good set, though sadly it's capped at level 98 in New Game Plus.

Nah, the only reason is so that Legendary Witcher gear is level 100 in New Game Plus. It REALLY doesn't matter because the resistances are the important thing, not the armour rating. You don't have to bother at all.

Great stuff man! Chort mutagen you'd normally get from that Myseterious Tracks quest in Velen. I never really thought about it, but that might be the only one. The only other Chort is in the Benergar's Blade sidequest, but that one's missable and only available during the first Kaer Morhen bit so you're passed that now. Have you done that quest already? I think I must've always got the mutagen from that one. You could always get it from New Game Plus if needed. It's not a brilliant decoction anyway.

I saw a reddit thread that said you wouldn't want to be higher than 52 before starting NG+ because certain things scale higher than the cap level (100) making it to a point where you cannot wear certain gear because it'll be leveled past the cap. I'm a level 54 and I'm worried about starting NG+ now. Also worried that crafting any new witcher gear sets would be a waste of crowns because all that gear i have worked so hard at crafting will be useless i imagine by the time i get to velen. WTF man! I can't stop praising this studio but this is the one oversight that really bothers me. There is sooo much this game doesn't tell you. It is what it is i guess. Thank you for the information though. Nah, they patched that issue...you can start New Game Plus as high as you want now. Grandmaster gear doesn't become obsolete in New Game Plus if you know what you're doing. Watch the first couple of episodes of my New Game Plus playthrough; you see me completing quests that are recommended level 87 or so when I'm only level 60 something, using the exact build in this video.

This is my response to someone asking a similar question on the full build video: There are a few reasons I chose the Undvik trousers; it's mainly about the balance of resistances. The build doesn't have the Deflection enchantment so arrows do damage (Piercing) and the lowest resistance on the build other than Elemental is Bludgeoning. Without the Undvik trousers, arrows break Quen easier and enemies with clubs and Bludgeoning attacks so significantly more damage. I much prefer using the Undvik trousers to keep these damages as low as possible and dealing with all enemy types. Lastly, the extra monster damage normally makes no difference with the Ursine trousers. The build with Legendary armour has 68% monster resistance. Add 25% from Protective Coating and that is 93%. If you have inventory weight of 110 out of 170 or lower, the 7% from Arachas decoction takes that to 100% who you get the maximum resistance possible (99%) anyway. Having more Monster resistance makes no difference if that is the case as you're already at 99%. Earlier in New Game Plus the resistances on your regular Grandmaster gear is lower though so it can make a difference then (depending on inventory weight for Arachas decoction). Of course, these are all small details. It's perfectly possible to use the Ursine/Hen Gaidth trousers (or indeed the Manticore ones, which I'd say are slightly better) and you'd only really notice it versus archers and club-wielding enemies. I'd recommend watching my New Game Plus walkthrough to see the different aspects of using this build and how I tweak it. You can actually improve it even further by adding Aard Sweep and the Ancient Leshen decoction, which I do in that playthrough.

Thanks for the kind words! The answers to your questions aren't straightforward unfortunately, because no one can tell what causes the mutagens to not carry over. They do for some people (I've always kept them all) but they don't for others. I have the PAL region GOTY edition and mine have always carried over every time. I suppose the only way to tell would be to keep your manual save at the end of your first playthrough and start NG+. Check to see if the mutagens carry over, then go back the manual save and set up accordingly. If your mutagens don't carry over, I'd say spend as many as possible on mutations, then build the rest of your abilities back up in NG+. If the mutagens carry over, just unlock two or three Strengthened Synapses slots before starting New Game and then complete the 4th slot much later. Btw 100k gold is loads. NG+ swords and stuff sell for a fortune, so money is never an issue IMO.

Do you mean for the chest armour? Probably Deflection, as a lot of the other ones are a little lacklustre. I don't use Feline myself; Manticore is better for all-out offense and Ursine/mixed gear is better for defensively utility and you still get tons of offensive punch with the correct setup for that.

Yeah I said in the video that no quest items carry over? Diagrams all reset because the levels of the items changes in New Game Plus. I mentioned the mutage issue too; sometimes (and no one knows why) when you start New Game Plus you'll only have one of each mutagen type instead of keeping all of them. It's very strange and there doesn't seem to be an identifiable cause. If that is happening.

Wait, you're level 85 on a first playthrough?! That seems incredibly high, I've only ever reached level 55ish, although I play on Death March so you get less experience. If you're level 85 then you'd start at level 85 and every quest would be 85 levels higher than in your regular playthrough.

Not sure if you mentioned it but i saw you still had a mutagen skillslot locked. Your mutations carry to the next game, so it would be prefered to get all mutations before you do a NG+, because you lose your access to the Winter Cherry ingredient which is only available from corvo bianco in toussaint. It's the ingredient thats vital to change one color mutagen into another. Otherwise you have to do it the normal way, i.e. find red mutagens and turn them into greaters, which takes quite a long time to find enough.

If you're planning on playing New Game Plus after finishing the current playthrough, I'd say leave them as late as possible and do them after you've finished everything else. That way you'd be as high a level as possible for starting New Game Plus, which IMO is better. If you're not too bothered about New Game Plus then it doesn't really matter when you do them.

I'd just say do the contracts and quests at the level that they are recommended for. Just try not to get 6 levels higher than a quest; you get less experience if you are too high a level.

another great vid with lots of info. I just beat the main story for the first time, but got the worst goddamn ending possible. Now I feel like I need to replay the main story to get the good ending before playing the DLCs lol. but nah gonna play them and get all the upgrades then do NG+, a lot of great info in your vids man, ty for making them. helps out a looot

You're welcome man, glad you like the content. Some of the key choices for the ending are a little whack imho. Just treat NG+ as your 'canon' playthrough after you've done the DLCs 😊

Even if you started NG+, would you still collect the same items, weapons, armors, etc. from the same places?

It depends what you mean. The random items, swords and armours that you find throughout the game are generally randomised so if you found a certain item in a certain chest in your first playthrough you wouldn't find the same item in that chest in New Game Plus, if the item is randomised. However, some things are found in specific places such as the Witcher gear diagrams. For those items in New Game Plus you'd find the appropriately-levelled New Game Plus equivalent. For example, where you find the Griffin diagrams in your regular game, in New Game Plus you'd find the Legendary Griffin diagrams.

love your videos, just completed the main story on NG+ with the DLCs to go. Should I pick up Aerondight now? I totally messed up trying to level up my old one, but I would still like to use it for more than just B&W so I was thinking to get it now before coming back to HoS.

Well, you can always catch up levelling your 1st Aerondight if you need to, it's just a bit of a pain sometimes. If you use Manual sword sheathing you can go find a pack of wolves and get Aerondight to 10 charges vs them, then take their health down with you steel sword, switch back to Aerondight and finish them off for +1 and keep doing that. There are also the respawning Nekker nests in Northeast Velen where you can fight loads of Nekkers to level it up. Make sure you're not using Euphoria and that'll jeep your damage lower so that you don't kill them too quickly, and use Protective Coating + Arachas Decoction + high monster resistance so that your Quen doesn't break and you don't lose charges. That'll level it up relatively quickly. But yeah, you could always just grab the 2nd Aerondight and keep that levelled up as you go; it's generally pretty easy 🙂

Pretty much as far as you want. Check out the New Game Plus walkthrough episodes...I use it for the first 20+ levels of NG+ and also complete the Runewright quest 25 levels early.

Thanks for the quick reply man! I couldn't find the Undvik trousers as the vendor in Skelige doesn't sell it anymore for some reason. Whay alternative can i use? I got a lvl 49 Toussaint knight's tourney (crafted relic) trousers. Any of the vampire sets better maybe? Thanks

@@laszlonagy6034 Either the Hen Gaidth trousers if you did the Unseen Elder quest, or the Nilfgardian DLC trousers from Crow's Perch. If you use the Hen Gaidth ones, you can wear the mask and use the Steel sword and get 3% health recovery as an added bonus!

Hey I’ve been addicted to your vids for Witcher 3 and i was wondering if the armors and swords sold by stores scale to different levels in NG+ . Eg like nilfguardian guard gauntlets are sold by master crafted armoires at lvl 30 will it be lvl 30 in NG+ or will it be the level at what you will be. Also does crafted gauntlets scale with your Lvl in NG+ as I want to get lvl100 gauntlets in NG+

The ones sold by stores usually scale. For example, if I'm level 50 then the Grandmaster armourer will usually sell level 50 Nildgaardian Guardsman's Gauntlets, and at level 100 he had a pair of level 99 ones. The crafted version is fixed level. In the regular playthrough they're level 31, so in New Game Plus they'll be whatever your starting level was +31 levels. The bought ones are a little heavier, and the armour rating doesn't matter that much so you can use whichever version you prefer really...the resistances are identical.

in my opinion, completionism is crucial and doing so, i want to get the saddle from o dimm on my first play through so that way, i can get the legendary viper silver sword at a higher level than the regular one you get from your first playthrough and make it better to complete the whole legendary viper set. same with getting iris at a higher and more useful level dont you agree? seems you do as you understand the completionists mind by getting just high enough level to end with max level grandmaster gear and by choosing the saddle the first time around too.

Sort of; it depends on the person. I'm very 'Completionist/Perfectionist' myself, but I also understand the viewpoint that it matters very little in terms of overall effectiveness. Some things really matter, but some don't. To each their own 🙂

Yeah, it's a personal preference really. New Game Plus is good for a few reasons though. You don't have to find potion, bomb or decoction recipes again so there's less hunting for stuff and it's a nire streamlined experience. You have all your money and crafting ingredients, and all your gear so you can just play the game without fetching, looting and dismantling if you want to. For people who want to make Death March easier it's also significantly less difficult with the correct build. You also get all the Places of Power again, which lets you unlock the all the mutations and Strengthened Synapses slots which you don't have enough points for on a first playthrough.

@@foxrocks10 Not exactly. I tend to stash the runes and Glyphs, and keep the crafting materials because they have no weight. I either stash, sell or dismantle the junk though. Yup yup. I usually pick up swords and stuff to sell when playing New Game Plus, but you rarely have to actually bother imho because the higher level means that swords and armour sell for loads anyway so money isn't an issue imho.
