What is this 'right' and 'real' nonsense that seems to be constantly spammed on this channel? As if anyone here is an authority on anything at all. There are specific rules that specific traditions force their initiates to adhere to, and these are correct, to these people only. The Craft was about teen witches tapping into power--not teen Wiccans, or teen Dianics, or teen satanists, etc. Not all witches bow to a specific tradition or dogma. If you do, that's more than fine, but there isn't a single law all practitioners must adhere to.

When they mention Manon they are talking about Manannán or Manann Irish God of the sea and member of the Tuatha Dé Danann. They purposely mispronounced His name to be respectful to those of us who practice the Artes Magickal. I appreciate that they did this. This is one of my favourite movies of all time.

I have read an article about the wiccan that advised for the film. She stated that they decided to change the name of the deity they called upon for two reasons: 1) they didn't want to be disrespectful to a religion 2) They also didn't want impressionable teens who saw the movie try to summon a power they didn't understand.I'm sure the reason you gave was probably another obvious one that wasn't mentioned. I'm cautiously optimistic about the remake/reboot/revival movie, both because I love the original movie and I'd love to see it updated with modern technology. I will be bummed out if they don't go to a cool occult shop, however. I feel like the people behind the scenes that wrote and produced the movie have love for the original whereas the people behind the Charmed reboot had none for the source material or those that created it. We'll see, I guess. At the end of the day, it's not like I'm the demographic that the movie is being made for.

I love this film in the way it shows the dangers of trying to use magick in the wrong way. Unlike the newer version it fleshed out the characters and gave us reasons why they turn to magick and behave the way they do. You feel for them but understand what they are doing was wrong. I always heard that Fairuza Balk was raised Wiccan and still practices, but I just found an article where she says she learned about it during filming this movie. I always wondered how she felt about the exaggerated cinematic nature of the movies she was in where she played a witch (Mildred Hubble and Nancy, with an honorable mention for being a more grounded in reality psychic as Vicky Vallencourt) being that this was her religion, but I guess it's all moot now that I know better. Hello, I love your videos. I am a Wiccan and I love the craft, practical magic, and the secret circle. Spoilers for The Secret Circle Warning!!! I just wanted to point this out in case you missed it but in the secret circle, the only reason why they have two books is that they were the family books from members of the circle. They explained it as the series moved on each family had a book but because they were hiding the fact that they knew they had powers from their parents they were only able to get two books. One from Cassie's family and one from Jace's family because their parents had passed on and left them the books. I also think that there would be more books as well given that the Blackwell children arrive from other covens at the end of the series in the last scene. Finally, because this is getting long, there was a third book of shadows as well, John Blackwell brought his family book with him later in the season and I remember that you kind of see it when Cassie's sister tries to kill her while Blackwell has them trapped. It's the same scene where he's trying to turn the crystal skull black and killing the rest of the coven.

Movies about witches are never going to be 100% accurate. If they were you'd see a witch waiting a month to a year for her spells to manifest. They base the ritual on real witchcraft but they have to sensationalize everything or it would be a boring movie.

I have a question for you guys. I hope this is ok to ask. I am a fantasy fan, including stories involving witches. The question I have is this: Are there any stories out there with a witch or coven of witches no matter the gender that have any case of a mental disability whether it be autism as a couple of examples and it could be mild or/and severe cases out there somewhere? I'm asking because I have a mental disability myself and I wonder how a witch with a mental disability would effect the magic in any way. Would it create a problem a neurotypical (one who doesn't have a mental disability) witch deal with or give an advantage a neurotypical witch would not have or anything along those lines. If I bothered you or anything with my questions, I'm sorry In regards to "The Craft", what I like about Sarah being the hero of the story is that her growing empathy and self-awareness is what helps her win against her "friends" and save Jenny and her dad. I also like that even Sarah is empathetic, she learns when to draw a line and not let someone like Nancy take advantage of that. I think it's something we all need to learn is is to be more self-aware and to be empathetic and at the same time, not let a bad person take advantage of the empathy for there own gain. Both these things are hard for anyone to learn. I also like how the movie shows that power alone doesn't make a person strong and I think a lot of people have forgotten that. Power doesn't equal strength I hope what I'm saying makes sense to you and again, I'm sorry if my curiosity and questions bothered you. If it did, please forgive me and my curiosity!!!

The Craft wasn't "about Wicca". In no place was Wicca mentioned. Using terms and rituals from the most mainstream and most well known form of modern magic was an easy choice, but the girls were not self-proclaimed "Wiccans", and putting in a goddess or making her mother appear would have been completely unnecessary. This was the 90s, when people weren't obsessed with " equal and equal representation" and willing to sacrifice a good plot in favour of it.

I think it was because the group of girls were nieve, and got into Wicca to solve their problems,( even before Sarah showed up) without truly understanding it. Once they gained their powers, they took advantage of them instead of respecting them. Thus, creating a dilemma and storyline. The wiccan that ran the occult shop addressed this by being surprised they didn't know the basic rule: do onto others you would want done onto you. They learned the hard way that they all should have educated themselves more and respected something before trying to reap the benefits of it.
