Hi and thank you for this reaction! It was nice to see you enjoying this survival story from the past. Those children really helped eachother by sharing clean water portions what they had. I heard that people of tonga could not at first understand why a finnish band want to tell their story, and need some original vocals for this song. But now we all pessimists can learn how to survive by taking care of eachother. Thank you Nightwish ❤ Interested to see and here more reactions from You...Kaisa ❤

How amazing and beautiful are these lyrics: "We're all here On an island of black seas Red in tooth Red in claw Red in love, the passionate young We're still here On an island of soon free Learning to live Yearning to give The stranded a ride back home" Tears ran down my face when realizing that this part is not only about these children of Ata...but it is about all of us now! There is so much hope in these lyrics and it is breathtakingly beautiful!

Fantastic song, so much depth, so many musical trusts and turns, Fantastic lyrical story telling as only Nightwish and Floor can. Great reaction dude, I've found that listening to the album end to end really does make you appreciate it all the more - it's so immersive and takes you on a musical journey that at times is overwhelming, and the gently let's you go with the utterly sublime Lanternlight 🤘

this song was the first "i got to rehear this NOW" when first listening Yesterwynde... it got 4 or 5 respins that day and left me speechless - and happy ! it felt like a chanson ( the Genre ) and i still can´t believe how good it is in so many ways - and why DO i like this in a Nightwish song, but nothing from that Genre is on any of my playlists... Must be a Nightwish fanboy thing going to hear it again now ;)

Nightwish är mästare på att berätta historier från det verkliga livet, de gör så bra musik och jag älskar Floore ❤❤❤

This song brings tears to my eyes when she sings "yearning to give the stranded a ride back home" because of the message and the easter egg to Last Ride of the Day, which is one of my favs from NW

Thuomas read this story about the Children of Ata in "Humankind" from Rutger Bregman, which is in itself a very interesting book.

I’m also very pessimistic about people and mankind and our future, but I’m glad that we still have this genius man, Tuomas, who has such a positive perspective about life and humanity! I try to believe we still have some hope!

The choir you hear during this song is from Tonga and flown in to perform in this song.

In my opion, The Children of Ata, is the exact opposite of Lord of flies. But, the one is a Story., The Children of'Ata are real.

Indeed, the Lord of the Flies, mentioned in "An Ocean of Strange Islands" is about boys that shipwrecked on an Island like the children of Ata. But in Lord of the Flies they became savages, in the children of Ata they succeeded in living together.

I think this one will really come to life in a live performance. The translations below may not be 100%. Togan translation of opening. My heart is full of pain as the evening falls The ocean has carried you away Return back home, my sons. Translation of middle section. I pray that you are still alive We are ever watching for your return
