I've done it. Judge agreed with me that the zone sneaks up on you. Didn't give me traffic school. The clerk couldn't believe it, she had to get confirmation from the judge.

Fleischer did an interview a few months back. He said the robes are not really required, it’s just something that a lot of judges do for tradition. He said they’re very hot and he only wore them his first two days before he decided to wear suits instead.

In Texas at least, judges have the same authority whether they're in a swimsuit or formal dress. As a former bailiff, I've seen judges administer courts in running shorts and a t-shirt, although that's not the norm.

I feel the same way when I see him but then I remember that I don’t need this kind of tough love and he could just throw them in jail and not try to help them. I do believe he is trying to help them and speaking to them they way they need. It is there only hope.
