That was the most on edge run of Spelunky 2 from anybody I've seen so far, like 8 audible "HOLY SHIT" came out of me lol, especially that shopkeeper climbing the rope! Nice run dude. I really agree with that ending. You and Malf are veterans of the series so naturally you've both been more interested in the secret paths because you know they're there, but sometimes it's better to get through the game and get a feel for everything new.

you don't need the udjat eye to get to the black market or to vlad's castle, but it helps to the black market, you can go to the background layer to hear and try to locate the black market to vlad's castle you can just bomb down until you get to it

NL, when you went to the sunken city area when the doggo is alive, you get a royal jelly payout on the Kali altar, so you should whip twice and sacrifice.

Heads up, NL, you actually can get to dracula's castle without drill if you have 6 bombs placed well to hit the tnt in the ground on the way down (that run had 31) so worth noting. Even on runs you have udjat sometimes that's worth doing if there's a lava lake, or simply you want to keep the udjat since drill takes it away.

If you are lucky you can get to vlads castle in as little as one or two bombs since there are hidden doors in the walls that connect to the vlad tunnel

I think it's good to do the alien gun play early. It will kill you a few times, but it's worth it for the power and the excitement I think. It's also probably going to be rare enough that you shouldn't pass it up when it presents itself.

On the drill level I've made it to Dracula by using the spike balls that drop. Just keep jumping in front of the same one and it will go all the way down, eventually. You'll hear the noise (like when you find the black Market) when it's gone far enough
