I never understand why people hold this series up as some beacon of feminism. All Feyre's new friends are simply her boyfriend's friends, she's financially and emotionally dependent on him and he gaslights her with that "your choice" bollocks despite the fact he knows girl has absolutely no life or resources outside of his sphere and is never going to go against him. Just because her first relationship was more overtly abusive it doesn't mean this one is healthy. Not too mention Captain Feminism is less a feminist and more a nepotist. We never see any evidence of him empowering women in general, just putting his connections in positions of power.

I agreed so much with Tamlin when he just responded to Rhysand's vile comment with "get out." Tam's clearly not a villain. He is a fallen and lost hero who needs help...just like the other characters. Rhys was allowed to slip up but not Tamlin? I think they could have done so much more with this character. The author made a misstep here. There was so much hypocrisy in this book that it feels like the author lost the pulse on what each of the characters' motivations were and also the spirit of the holidays that she is meant to portray in general. Also Lucien, who is genuinely a good faerie. Man, give these spring court guys a break.

The part where Feyre is talking to the weaver is so funny to me because her husband died in battle where he was fighting alongside the summer court, and in the scene where Feyre was getting spicy in battle with Rhysand the book specifically pointed out how she could hear the screams of people on the battle field from the summer court dying. There's ways to do it. Why not just have it be that he comes away from the relationship a better person, sometimes acts as their ally against the big bad (some interesting awkward tension could be created by their previous relationship) and then eventually finds his own real love?

@@ellie7646 If your book is good, you probably won't. :( It seems that if you want to make good money, you have to write like a 13 year old girl (you just sit and write what comes to your mind or write some fanfic and publish it as a first draft (do not make any changes to make it better - that seems to be contradictory to the goal of making a lot of money!). I wrote one book as a young teen (ages 12-14, so 2 years took to make the first draft) and I wrote in that way - what came to my mind without having some plot in mind/where the story is going - but it was fun to explore without knowing - I really had fun with it and spent many hours writing. But you know what, I somehow managed to wrap it up and actually (for what it was) it kinda became a real sound story at the end. It follows a story of a young wizard whose parents are murdered - and later he founds out that the wizard who arranged all the teachers and everything for him to learn magic, actually also arranged the murder of his parents (it's kinda easier to get someone to depend on you when you murder their parents, right). When he finds out (not very happy about it :D), the wizard takes his sister (non-magic person) hostage in order to make the main character to obey. The main ch. manages to rescue his sister and kills the big bad wizard in the process. And in the end, there was even a set up for a second book. Of course, if I ever wanted to publish it (I'm not planning that), it would have to be completely rewritten and edited heavily but I still think it's way better than f.e. Fifty Shades of Grey, even as a first draft. :D Also, it's not in English but rather a minor language, so it would be even harder to get published and get successful. What's your book about? And congrats that you get to be published. :)

16:53) Because the author decided to turn Tamlin into a bastard in order to make Rhysand more appealing. It's a classic yet very stupid trope some authors do. @@daniloabaigar5648 yeah, but even the didn’t their breakup have something to do with him having some responsibility in her friends murder? I just feel like SJM doesn’t know how love works, like people can separate without someone doing something awful. Just feel like it’s a bad message for teens, teaches people to constantly point the finger at other people when something bad happens.

Seriously, the whole premise of Tamlin and Feyre's relationship was based on trying to break a curse. I wouldn't be surprised if after it all was over they realised that, whilst they like each other, it's not in THAT way. It's actually more believable than what happens in the books. I'd love it if they had simply just realised they didn't work as a couple and parted amicably.

Sexuality is fluid, yeah, it can look messy, but in my opinion Mass just don't understand it and she made poor reaserch, beacause this is first book where she included good not straight characters (first one was bad lesbian witch who abused her daughter and killed childrens :') ) and she wasn't, too subtle about it.

@@kianadoescod6402 didn’t the Bat Boyz sleep around as well? Why when Nesta does it, it’s bad? Also, aren’t Feyre and Rhys rich af? What can a couple of alcohol tabs do to them when they have 5 houses?

I feel that Tamlin is based off of the authors past boyfriend or something and she is trying to trash him because maybe he was trash, you know? I think Tam did not deserve it and I think they could of approach it differently but whatever.

but he smashed everything around feyre twice (second time after he said hed change) and scared her and actually hurt her the second time because the stuff he exploded around her hit her he also locked her in a jail and shouted at her to stay home he started talking about how she orgasms in front of the whole table of people when they were having serious talks about war and when amarantha was gonna kill feyre he begged amarantha not to and tried to have sex with feyre one last time instead of trying to save her even if hed die doing it. i personally do not like him at all

@@errorpleasetryagain1018 Understandable, I have only read the first book and have no interest in the rest so maybe my opinion is a little off. I will say tho' I agree with you on the trying to have sex instead of saving her thing. I was so pissed during that part of the book.

@@neenah7376 you should honestly read the rest of the books i really enjoyed them! but id say to not even bother with silver flames and the one before it they were very underwhelming. rhys and feyre actually ended up being my favourite couple and acotar one of my favourite book series. the first book sucked though so i cant blame you for not wanting to continue

@@ShannenKerrie yeah that really made me hate him i honestly just pretend that part never happened. and the explanation was terrible too super underwhelming and not justified. i just pretend it was sara j mass’ mistake and its not what rhys really wouldve done🤣🤣🤣i love him too much to believe he did that i just block it from my mind
