There's one thing I appreciate about them soooo much: None of their albums ever sound the same. And still it's always unmistakebly them. This what makes them my favorites next to Epica and Nightwish. These bands are just build different.

Ah, Within Temptation - one of the symphonic metal Big Three, along with Nightwish and Epica, the latter of which really deserves more attention. Could you check out Tides of Time (and look up the background of that song)?

I haven't kept up too much with Within Temptation in recent years but I always enjoy them. If you want you can check out their Black Symphony concert where they had a live orchestra and choir, some really solid performances in that show! Twon always tells me to get out...but then I don't 😁

Like you reactions and I’m glad you find the Dutch Metal scene. Recommendation for WT “Black Symphony”. But we have more to discover The Gathering, Delain, Epica, Ex Libris, After Forever and a lot of others. All these bands made great collaborations, that’s more or less European I think, also and worth it to discover.

Modern days WT are very different to how the band started and if you ask me, they do not have anything to offer. Just a generic pop rock that is done by thousands others every day.

There is a case to be made for that, I can agree. Although, I think every band has SOMETHING unique to offer. Sometimes you have to dig a bit to find it!
