@@JanStuivenberg2810 Epica always was and is a symphonic metal band with slight variations from album to album. Within Temptation's very 1st album, Enter, I don't consider symphonic metal but more doom and goth metal. In the 2000s they are symphonic metal. In the 2010s they still have that symphonic metal element but they seem to be doing less and less from album to album in the 2010s and more of this pop mixing with metal from album to album with this new music really more pop sounding then anything that they done in the past.

Whaoo monster talent for sure . I am not uncorfortable to say that is a little masterpiece ! Yes the melody is outstanding ! And her vocals are of a real talent . 6'00" -6'06" Yees Sir Tra they are pretty spectacular . Incredible this stuff brings you some pretty unique atmospheres in synphonic prog metal ecc

lol I just got finished watching some of your Nightwish reactions earlier today and now I see you have discovered another monster band in the symphonic metal genre...good times ahead exploring this band....I've seen them in concert and they are amazing!! They have so many awesome songs... Angels, Deceiver of Fools, Faster, Frozen, Ice Queen, In the Middle of the Night, Iron, Jillian (I'd Give my Heart), Our Solemn Hour, Sinead, Somewhere, Stairway to the Skies, Stand my Ground, The Cross, The Heart of Everything, The Other Half (Of Me), The Howling, The Truth Beneath the Rose, Where is the Edge and on and on. Those are just a few of my fave's but you literally can't go wrong listening to anything they have put out in my opinion (although starting with the last few albums they have been departing from symphonic metal on some of their tracks and seem to be experimenting with a more mainstream sound with pop elements and regular rock). Like Nightwish, another rabbit hole you can lose yourself in for sure.....enjoy the ride!!

Late 1990s and the 1st decade of the 21st century was Within Temptation at its best. Newer music by Within Temptation is still good in the 2010s.
