Battery life is great. 7-8+ hours of sot at least for me is what i can call "great". My ex-S10+ exynos, could not do this with a 4000mah battery. Everything else you say is spot on.

Here is something to think about. You are saying many of the issues you have with the phone can be fixed with a software update. Well I believe they will fix them with updates as they want to get better and better and it's shows by there major improvements Ove the past few years. I have almost every Galaxy through the S9+ and LG G series as well including V20 and V30. Also iPhone 6plus and a 8plus. So I have plenty of phones to compare it with and after tons of research I bought my first Xiaomi. Xiaomi Mi 9!! I most say I love it. It has a Samsung Super AMOLED 2k HDR display that looks as good as my S9+. Only difference is my S9 gives me the option to go up to Quad Hd. Yet 98% of the time I use HD+. It out benchmarks all the Flagship's with 855's this year so far. It beats the S10+ by 20,000 points. It's camera is awesome and is getting better with updates. It's video is rated #1 on Dxomark which is the go to source for Photo and Video benchmark's. It placed #4 in photo only behind the Mate 20 pro, P30 pro, S10+ but now I think it's been bumped to 5th because I think the OnePlus just moved ahead of it on photo. But at wide range and truthfully the telephoto should go to the Xiaomi. Either way the 48mp is awesome and if you port in Gcam it only gets that much better lol. Already did!! Battery life is awesome and rated #2 amongst Flagship's. It only fell behind the P30 pro. But it has a extremely small 3300mah compared to the P30 pro's 4200mah and the Mi 9 only lost by 25 minutes or so. But it beat the S10+ 4100mah and many other 4000+mAh battery loaded phones. This tells you just how optimized the software from Xiaomi is. Overall I love the design but yes definitely the photo lens on the back sticks out to far but it actually works out perfect for me as I always use a case as I've learned dropping these expensive phones to case them properly. So with a proper case it's flush and it's still thin! And best of all I got mine shipped to the house overnight for 450 US dollars! And there are no ads as many complain. The headphone jack is no issue as they send you a adapter with it! So you have a headphone jack. I've seen several water test with the Mi 9 under 1 foot of water and no issues after 5 minutes. Very well sealed. But it's not rated for water and it will not hold at 3-5 feet of water as the pressure makes if leak. Here is the only thing I truly miss and find somewhat troubling. No external storage. But it has good storage. It is a true Flagship that is a Flagship killer.

MIUI is very customizable and fully loaded with different settings to individualize your phone. Also it runs very smooth. I used all kinds of UI's before. I am actually a big stock Android fan and user, but MIUI is just great in my opinion. Also Xiaomi updates it's phones over years. Even 4-5 years old phones get the latest version.

@@anfe the teardrop notch on mi 9 is so awesome and is so little i never really even see it the screen is super amoled its fast it never glitched pictures are great honestly for 500 ots the best out there.for me it only has 1 drawback and that it battery 3300mAh not a big deal for me i am a student but it does really good since it has the 7nm chip and the new gpu andreno 640 its good in the end of the night i have around 10% left. Thats pretty good and it charges super fast 27w charger. It charges fully withing 1 hour. I love the fingerprint scanner too is accurate and fast. The bad thing with mi mix 3 is his mechanisms idk i just dont feel so good for first gen things or maybe its just me.
