Trojan fan here, everything said in this video is pretty on point. I would add that if we did not have Caleb Williams, we would be a 500 team right now after playing absolutely nobody so far… This is the worst defense I have ever seen at the college football level. They are supposed to have more depth and better players this year on defense which makes the fact that this defense is flat out atrocious even less acceptable. Those of you that think this defense is going to improve over the season are playing with fools gold. We had way less depth and talent last year, but our defense is just as bad if not worse this year. This defense, especially the secondary will not see any improvement unless there is a change made at the defensive coordinator position.

@@soonerborn7603 yup we are OU 2.0 except for this year. Believe me, I was not thrilled when the news of Grinch tagging along with Riley broke out. If you guys had just even less than mediocre defense those years, you probably would’ve won a national championship with Kyler Murray, or close to it.. But now, I am seeing flaws in Lincoln Riley. There has been some very questionable play calling and the dude just does not seem to make adjustments or care about the defense. You guys are now almost as good on offense but much better on defense and you went from unranked to a top five team. Well deserved best of luck the rest of the season. We are literally a one-man show. Caleb Williams as good as he is can’t do it all alone. We will lose three games out of the next six if we are lucky

@@sector783 And about once a year he’ll have a game where his offense just isn’t playing well at all (like the Arizona game). We had a similar experience against West Virginia is 2021. We won 16-13 on a last second field goal. I’m happy with where my team is at, so I don’t hate Lincoln for leaving. It definitely felt like it was time for a change. But hopefully y’all get rid of the Grinch at least. I don’t know how much of it is his fault, but he definitely sucks as a DC! We were actually excited when we first got him…🤦🏻‍♂️ lol

That or they don’t know what they’re playing for. To see a defense that constantly over and under pursues, constantly out of place, can’t tackle, pretty much the same stuff we saw last year and at Oklahoma when he was there. @@sector783 He does seem to have a more laid back coaching style where he’s more of a friend to the players than a coach. Not saying that coaching style is necessarily wrong. But it does seem like the players can get away with some stuff. I remember hearing about players that would skip practices and workouts occasionally. I also remember some freshman who got to OU (I THINK it was Danny Stutsman, but not 100% sure) was asked about the strength and conditioning program and he said his workouts in high school were harder. It’s just crazy how all this time as a head coach and he doesn’t try to improve these glaring weaknesses. But I’m not going to hate on him anymore. It looks like Caleb might win a second Heisman at least! That’s definitely pretty cool for y’all!

There are a lot of similarities between what Williams has to do and what Brice Young had to do last year. Both in there Junior seasons after winning the Heisman and, on teams with significantly deficient areas of the game. For USC it's defence, for BAMA it was WR and penalties. Young didn't win the Heisman as a Junior and neither will Williams. However, Williams will lose more than 2 games. It was a waste of a Heisman QB for BAMA and it will prove to be a waste for USC.
