As a teenager I built a 7 foot tall replica of the alien for Halloween. It was complete, from his bulbous head & I duplicated his outfit. Just after sundown I put it, standing up, on the roof of our house. Not long after police showed up to investigate "who" was standing on our house! Lol Apparently the street lights cast just enough light on it to really set it off & give it a truly unearthly appearance. Even though my mother has given me permission to do it, it still creeped her out. Before the police left, their dispatcher said they were continuing to get more calls about it. LMAO!
@LannieLord5 ай бұрын
That is AWESOME !! Sounds like something I would have done. What was his face made out of ?
@Estes7055 ай бұрын
@@LannieLord I bought a Styrofoam head (one that's used to hold wigs) at our local Walmart. At first I started using modeling clay, but it was far too heavy and would cost more than a 15 year old kid could afford (LOL). I took off the modelling clay and blew up three balloons; two basically the size of my fist and one a bit larger. I taped them into place with a LOT of masking tape, placing the fist-sized ones "behind the ears" and the larger one just forward of the very top of the head. Then I used good old Elmer's glue and water with newspaper to paper-mache over it all, to form the completed head. As I applied the outer covering, there were still voids under it, so I carefully packed dry wadded up newspaper into the empty spaces. I took an old pair of sunglasses and popped the lens out them to use as "big black eyes". I used a hole-puncher to pop out lots of little dots to carefully glue onto the sunglasses lens, after I had them glued in place. I was trying to match the insect-look of the alien in the movie. There were some extra pieces I had to glue on, to form the long thin lines of the exaggerated skull. It wasn't an exact match, but it was definitely a really freaky success, and my mom said it scared her to look at so I had to take all the stuff into the basement to finish the construction. LMAO

One of the truly best horror films of the 1980s and I saw this at the theater on the big screen... A forerunner to "Predator" without a diverse cast. Thanks for uploading this here! Peace
@thebigdog22957 ай бұрын
Forerunner, I'd say Predator was a rip-off of this movie. And most of the cast in this movie was either well past their career peak, or just starting out. Jack Palance, and Martin Landau were both big stars in their heyday. And the the scoutmaster was a famous comedian in his. And the guy sitting at the corner of the bar was famous for all of the westerns he played in. Both TV westerns, and big screen westerns. I can just about guarantee that the studio who made Predator paid off the producers of this not to sue them.

this movie was discussed in the 80s horror Doc. In Search of Darkness Part 3, you have Martin Landau(Ed Wood), Jack Palance(City Slickers), cameo appearances of Cameron Mitchell, Larry Storch, and Neville Brand, also Tom is played by David Caruso(CSI: Miami), also the tall Grey-Alien Hunter is played by Kevin Peter Hall(The Prophecy, Harry and the Hendersons, Predator 1 & 2), this movie's cinematography is done by Dean Cundey(Halloween, Halloween II, Halloween III: Season of the Witch, The Fog, The Thing, Psycho II, Back to the Future Trilogy, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Hook, and Jurassic Park), the movie's alien head was made by 7-time oscar winner Rick Baker(An American Werewolf in London, The Howling, Videodrome, Ghost Story, Harry and the Hendersons, Michael Jackson's Thriller, Ed Wood, The Nutty Professor, Men In Black Trilogy, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Planet of the Apes remake(2001), The Ring, The Wolfman remake(2010)), while the flying creature frisbees were designed by Greg Cannom( Hook, Mrs. Doubtfire, The Mask, Bram Stocker's Dracula, Titanic, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Vice, and The Lost Boys)

You're welcome! 😉😊👽💀☠️
