Just wow. You seem to have been there from the moment the moss started smoking. I know I speak for many other volcano aficionados (or nerds) when I say we would love to see much more unedited footage of those very early stages of the eruption! Volcanologists would absolutely drool over seeing that!

Undoubtedly the best footage I've seen from this eruption. Right time at the Right place. It must have been magical to live it. The first moments of a fissure eruption are always the most beautiful, because no spatter rampart have been built yet and you can really see the top of the magma dyke erupting at the surface.

What a fantastic thing for you to experience. Just think how few people on earth have been in such a place at such a time to witness the beginning of an eruption and then be able to photograph and film this spectacle. And so interesting how it slowly begins and bubbles and then the lava faucet is turned on! Greetings from a photographer / videographer from the US.

Amazing, fantastic and just so beautiful!;-) Have been last week in Iceland, Reykjavik, a few days for the first time. That eruption was expected every hour; people checking earthquake and volcanic activities update all the time. And it's so sad it started 2 days after I left;-) Hope next time, I can at least experience a hiking on a lava fields. Thanks for such a high quality, professional and fabulous video.

By all means, you obviously know far better how much risk you can take there than i ever could, but dude, wasn´t this FAR to close for comfort?! At some points this looks so surreal, one could think you´re walking in front of a green screen, especially the scene around 3:40! As stunning as this looks, please don´t let the KZbin hype make you risk too much! But besides that, this is freaking insane looking! And your choice to not use any music for this edit just makes this so much more special! Thank you! 👍

Maybe you can provide some rough size comparison/information in a few total view shots, for example 0:59 , that would be awesome! I know shots liek 6:14 do give some hints but for someone who has never seen anything like this with his own eyes its hard to imagine when there is literally nothing besides rocks :) still nice to watch but I need more information haha

@@tomdreamsbig I was wondering if you would you be able to provide a little more detail on the chronology. It would be interesting to understand more precisely when, for instance, the surface started smoking from the underground heat, when volcanic gases first appeared, and when lava first started erupting. Thank you for any insights!

As others have said, is there more footage of the moment when the magma started to push through....eg. at the 39 seconds mark, you literally only have a few seconds of this? Was that your footage of that moment as it's not watermarked? Just seems strange there is literally a couple of seconds, and then it jumps to what looks like half hour or hours later. I mean this is mesmerising footage - if you have more, please do post!

@@tomdreamsbig You must have lots of shots that you discarded because you thought it might be tedious or boring.
