Great video Tom and Abb, made even better watching you open and read out my letter......:-) The lighting in the Max Show hall is bit a harsh, making us both look bad.......The items in the photo of part of my collection are Army and Luftwaffe daggers, an SMF Luftwaffe sword, two SA daggers, a Boker SS and a few visor caps. Schmalkalden is a town located in Thuringia. It was frist mentioned in a deed from 874 and was granted town privileges in about 1180. Fantastic stuff especially that allach drummer as someone who loves and collects porcelain. Allach is as high quality as any sevre or meissen in my opinion. Owning a piece is on my bucket list

Olympic knife is a beauty. Original bag to boot. I had a painted pillowcase purchased by an American tourist at the 36 Olympics. Party eagle with ' Freiheit und Brot beneath it. Tourist had it framed.

I think that Tom only has them because he’s scavenged so many from wrecked daggers over the years. I’m not sure where new ones can be acquired but I’ll ask.

Guildford is in Surrey, a county in the south of England, the English language is the hardest to speak, especially in the UK, as we have so many pronunciations of words and all the accents from all over our country.

Morning Mr Whitman and Rob, another great show. Is this going to be the last one for the year, or will you fit another one in. About the paper size over here in the UK. We use the size called A4. Which is with all documents, letters from companies and also official mail. I always thought the rest of the world used the same. What size do you use in the USA. I think the de facto standard is “letter” at 8.5 in by 11 in, although I use a lot of “legal” at 8.5 by 14 in.

Hi Tom, the crackle finish 1st model luft seems to have a thick scabbard throat. As you said in your excellent luftwaffe tutorial, this is a sign of a later model. So could this be a cost cutting experiment before the 2nd model luft came out.
