I would be interested in seeing what you think your time is worth on this project, minus all the camera setup and such, i.e. How many actual hours do you think you spent on the build? I'm of the opinion that you should count that when making the comparison--because they certainly weren't charging you just for materials.

Here's a Hack tip from another Hack. Put blue tape along the piece you want to scribe then use your scribe blade to cut the tape. Peel off the tape and you have a high vis cut line for the cut.

Nice work! I would still count this as a win. Yeah you over time, but you didn't rush so the end result looks great. As for the budget, still a win. Did the quotes you received include the lighting? Also the paint sprayer is a tool that you can use on other projects down the road. So take the "W"! However I could beat you in speed running Mario 3.

The other thing with the 32mm system is it’s divisible all the way down to 1mm and upwards with lots of options. 1,2,4,8,16,32,64,96,128 and lots of multiples in between, all without going down to 0.5mm splits, and all even numbers.

I love the face frame pro tip mediated by a $19 pro. I really love this video. I plan to use some tips for a closet remodel--taking out the "T" between the two sets of folding doors to make that whole area open (even the top of the T). And then build drawers and space to hang that will be covered by doors.

A thought: instead of cutting the baseboard, couldn't you have left it in place and made the toe kick side to side inside the space with the baseboard but cantilevered (so to speak) the cabinets to touch the walls and riding just above the baseboards?

Hey Drew. At the 6 minute mark I saw you using the Kreg shelf pin jig in the prefinished ply. I noticed the tear out/fraying around the holes. I too am getting this with that particular bit and jig. My question to you is how did you go about cleaning those up as it is prefinished ply so sanding isn’t really an option here. Hopefully you can help a fellow woodworker out with this one because I am at my wits end on this one. Cheers

Nice eye. You are correct. Didn't find a good option. Sanded on the uppers that were un finished. Dealt with it and didnt tell the client (wife) about the lowers that are pre finished. I'm wondering if the bit is dull?

HACK! 😂 great job! I noticed you chose to paint the parts separately prior to install and fill nail holes and repaint again instead of all at once after assembly. What was the reasoning behind that? And would you do that again?

I thought I'd need two coats anyway, so i tried the sprayer in the garage on plastic since I hadn't tried it before. Did a mix of spraying, rolling, and brush on the second. Could have taped everything off and sprayed the 2nd coat...but...got lazy and didn't want to do all that prep work. I hate painting.

Instead of the Wen track saw, I'd pick up the Milescraft Track Saw Guide for $99. 50" of track that works with most circular saws. My Milwaukee Saw is much more powerful that that Wen, which doesn't come with any track at $99.

2:06 I rode through the forests in north Vietnam, just hundreds of miles of trees being cut by steel toe strap flip flop clad locals felling trees. Then tens and tens of small villages all with these massive lathes that they turn the full logs into sheets that they cut up and lay out to dry. Thousands of sheets of pre glue plywood out drying, was surreal to see. You mentioning Vietnamese birch brought back that memory. Thank you.

17:45 Literally me. I would take it a step further though and first make a big dent with the bit and at the second attempt I would end up turning that bit into a cutter and create a 1 inch scar on that sidepanel 😭😭😭😂 Also; Youre a "hack" that 100% made it way cheaper and it looks amazing! The doors being as cheap as you listed was really interesting since im considering changing my cabinetdoors in my kitchen! Cheers

They look great, all 6 of them! // For the side panel, looks like there was a little play at the top, you could have hacked off a 1/2" and slid it up in there. // If you want to drive the cost of this project down, just use the paint sprayer 9 more times, then the cost of that spray is $/10!
