10” mill-bastard. Yes, there is a reason behind the name. I think the first cabinet & counter top job was in 1969.

Recently got back into woodworking after a 10 year layoff. I live near Ft. Worth and discovered Plywood Company of Ft. Worth. I was blown away. Incredible supply, great prices and people. Can't go wrong here!

In the video it seems like the drawer “runners” were also made using 3/4” plywood. If that’s true, was there a concern regarding performance or functionality that lead you to use 3/4” vs. slightly less expensive 1/2” to create the runners?

Yes, Osgood-Schlatter’s (pronounced: Az-gud-- shlot-arz) is extremely painful. It’s the bane of all catchers who’ve played baseball for any length of time also. Sorry, bro.

Honestly I kind of like the soft Maple look. The wood grain is unique looking. The Walnut is beautiful as well.

Applying stain to good wood is sorta like seeing your best image develop in a darkroom tray before your eyes. That being said, digital photography is a godsend overall. Great video btw!

I’ve noticed similar issues to your scuffed edge problem with my flush trim router. It always happens and we don’t notice the texture to much on wood

A simple drawer design...but realistically, one could just use the regular Blum or equivalent Euro style 20" white kitchen drawer slides $8/ea shipped from Amazon. The lower cab would be like $48/ea for slides. The time and material comparison would likely end up cheaper. They're rated for like 75lb or so. They also provide some slop for inconsistencies in drawer size. Inside cab width minus 1" or so, could use 7/8-15/16"

Routing top laminate on finished front edge...throw some blue tape on the front edge. Then bearing runs on that and leaves just a small overhang to file

Listening to you I'd never guess that you had ever lived in the South or Texas. You talk really fast. I grew up in West Virginia. I automatically get 50 points deducted even by Americans.

I was older than you when I installed cabinets. I put a 2x4 stand on the lower ones to support each upper one while I duct taped it to the wall. 😊

I'm in Seattle, and I'm a complete amateur. How do you find "Paint Grade Soft Maple"?
@HDRWКүн бұрын
Really jealous of your suppliers of timber - Over Here in England B&Q (equivalent of Home Depot, including the orange colour scheme) has softwood, and that's it. No real choice of grade and certainly nothing as big as 2 x 12. Wood yards are few and far between, and mostly only for professionals - they don't have time for small customers like me. I do visit the USA from time to time, but there's a serious limit to what I could bring back in my suitcase... Definitely prefer the Walnut table. Mitt!

🤿 Another beautiful build! Wondering what kind of wood you’d recommend for a medium-dark brown finish, without the red of mahogany or red oak. Looking for more of a English chestnut color. Thanks for all the inspiration!
