He shot that girl because it was his job, if he hadn't he probably would have been punished (fired) for letting her shoot someone. In my opinion the girl was acting ridiculously out of control and should have trusted the police to do their job.

It never goes away , the self doubt , guilt , shame ... frequent flashbacks and racing thoughts , finding no relief ... never knowing if or when an episode will occur , or how severe it will be ... never knowing what will trigger one ...

Such an awesome episode! My favourite parts were when Ed took out the babysitter while Elliot was faking a seizure, and the standoff at Buttonville Airport, as well as the raid at the factory!

Good episode, but I too take issue with the one episode where Ed kills the girl, highly controversial simply because the character was absolutely wrong in doing what he did, but then again it was in the script right, and good script writing makes for awesome debates
