I just don't see the problem, and it boils down to too much ego and senseless ineffective reasoning. I don't think it's a no-go in all sports to think well of your opponent. May the best man win. This sentiment will not make anyone better or worse. It's just humans being silly.

The underhand serve by Tomic against Nick K shouldn't have counted because the ball bounced before Tomic hit it. Surprised the umpired didn't know the rule. You can serve underhand but you cannot bounce the ball and then strike it. I know this because I coached a junior team decades ago and had them initially serving underhand bounce hit serves. The opposing team complained after the match and I looked it up and they were correct in that it is illegal to hit the serve off the bounce. Just googled it again and the rule seems to still be in effect. You never seen underhand serves bounced on the pro tour other than Tomic's.
