I might be biased because I'm german myself, but I think they deserve wayyy better than last place. We don't have a chance at winning, but I think that the left side of the scoreboard is a realistic goal this year. Anyway, I love them and at least it's something that people will not easily forget.

Thank you for this great reaction. Not only Lord of the Lost is for me in the top 10 but it's even my number 1. For the lyrics at first sight you could think that they are simple lyrics but in reality it's metaphorically complex. Their lyrics are full of "sweet and bitter" contrast, the singing is contrasted between the sweet/growl voice and the slow/fast rhythm, the music is also contrasted in the slow/fast rhythm and even the writing is contrasted between primary meaning. simple and complicated metaphorical secondary meaning. So yes Mr. Palheden it is possible that a 10 year old could make a song like this with all these contrast settings but surely that child must be a Very Very High Potential 🤣.

I am in lust with blood and glitter. This song is super impactful, and as William noted, it's so good that the 3 minutes go by so fast. What other Eurovisuon song this year feels like it goes by this fast? I hope to see Germany on the LEFT side of the board this year. Saving my 12 points for Queen of Kings but 10 points to Germany.

"This sounds so german" - that's probably the best compliment you could've given. For years we've sent radiofriendly pop somgs you've heared a tousand times. Songs that could have come from Germany as well as Estonia, Greece or Portugal. Lord of the Lost however represent a type of music that is actually popular in Germany and that finally represents us. I keep my fingers crossed for a left side of the scoreboard placement, that would be amazing, but whatever happens, I'm very happy to be represented by them. And even if we go down again... at least this time we'll go out with a bang. We're legally required to brun down all the pyro and throw all the glitter on stage. It'll be a blast and I'm looking forward to what it'll look like on the big Eurovisison stage. :) Chis Harms is an old pro, he's got the vocals down, I'm not worried about anythig major happening in that department.

Definitely one of the stronger entries from Germany in a while, and well worthy of a top 10 placement. I don't usually listen to this type of music, but they have the kind of authencity some of the more poppy entries from Germany have, sadly, been lacking. I hope they'll do well.

LOTL are very talented and they put so much passion in what they are doing. They are so unique but never stay the same. Great, that you also pointed out, that they did fantastic work in the past. Thank you, I think that is one of the best reactions to the song that I have seen. Not because you say only nice things, or stuff people want to hear, but because you take the time to look at the lyrics as well. I fav line of the song is "with broken wings, we learn to fly". My wings have been broken several times, my live is not as I imagined it, when I was still a teenager, but maybe I will also learn to fly/dream/improve again.

You know what, as a diehard fan of this band I'll agree with Deban that it's far from their best one. It's still really good though and I hope it can end Germany's curse.

Probably 95% of their impressive discography is in some way better than Blood and Glitter. But almost none of those songs would be suitable for ESC, for this reason or that. It's either too heavy, or too gothic (=dark), or too serious for ESC. They are incredible artists that can surely make quality music, but not really to the ESC format. This one fits really well between ESC and the usual LOTL style. Another fun fact: their whole last album is 80s themed, and is a fusion between disco (even italo-disco) and hard core/metal. That's what they do, every album is a genre themed and very different from the previous and the following one. So Blood and Glitter wasn't specifically made "lighter" for ESC, but because it belongs to a themed album.

Great analysis. LOTL are crazy talented and they will certainly deliver a killer show in Liverpool that will make you feel like you accidentally stepped into one of their concerts. While I agree that they have better songs (the lyrics are really quite plain), the song is a perfect fit for Eurovision. Metal enough for the rock and metal audience, poppy enough for the non-metal and rock audience, 80s glam rock for the slightly older, nostalgic audience, and on top of this, the song is super catchy. It might not win but it will certainly not be last either. I really couldn‘t be happier with this selection ❤❤❤

Lord of the Lost always have a central theme around which they create an album, and in the case of Blood and Glitter it actually is 80s glam rock. And while the title track probably was written with ESC in mind, they do have some harder and darker stuff also on this one and I think it is not weaker than the previous ones in the least. Don't judge a book by its cover! My prediction for Liverpool is that many country juries won't love it - except Finland - but I guess the public vote will boost them into the top 10.

Even though im from the UK, i love Germany. I've visited the country and the people were so lovely to me. I've always wanted them to do really well and I was so happy when they got a top 5 with Michael Schulte. I know they've struggled these last few years, so this is a step in the right direction. Unfortunately though, I'm not a fan of the song. For me, it's not the strongest of the rock songs this year and sounds very out of date. It's not a bad song at all.....its currently sat at 23rd in my ranking for this year. Its moved up from 28th so its sustaining itsself in my psyche, but its just not strongg enough to really capture me. This should still do okay in the final. I really want Germany to do well.

I haven't heard more queer goth lyrics since...I don't remember. Like, there's theme of metaphorical bond and individual (I think that's why he said the lyric needs a bit rework, blood is often associated with family, when the lyric speaks more of freedom of choice than bloodline, I assume they don't know the term chosen family lel) , glitter repeated a lot.
