One thing you forgot to mention is the Key format also include Diva’s card pool, so you can put some card from Diva format into your Key format deck. All star: All of the card. Key: Card’s from the Key and Diva. Diva: Only Diva.

This just randomly popped into my head, but, what if Wixoss got something akin to Duel Links? Heck, maybe they could even separate the formats by the anime series or something like that: Classic: Selector Key Selection: Lostorage Diva Selection: Diva(A)Live

Hey thanks for being informative on wixoss your 2 videos has taught me plenty of what I need to know for the game. As for English we'd be playing in Diva format correct? Or is this a new format.. Also I'd love to see some more videos regarding basic decks and archetypes and just more generalized information

Dumb question but if the TCG Diva format does change, can we still use the older cards? Hopefully so, cause not everyone has a ton of budget to buy every new boosters and trial decks just to keep up to the current format. That's a recurring problem I've seen in most card games that finished earlier than they could but that may just be a coincidence.

It'll likely be what happened to Key on the JP side - it technically still exists and you can add Diva cards into it. So for EN, if/when Diva format is replaced, Diva will still exist as a format that you can continue adding post-Diva cards into. Usually the only flip formats when they start getting to the point where power-creep starts being a real concern with releasing new cards - rotation lets them start power levels at baseline again. Which means once post-Diva rolls around, the decks you carry over from Diva are likely to not need that many changes to keep up as new sets release. Basically - I don't think you have anything to worry about. (There's also all-star, but without classic- or key-era cards, EN isn't really at a point to adopt all-star.)

Yep, that's right. The restriction only came in for Diva format. That being said, all-star ARTs and LRIGs tend to be very colour intensive, and Key archetypes are very focused, so there was less incentive to try to be multicolour. Players would still splash cards (I remember in early Wixoss everyone was splashing the black ART Ancient Suprise), but true multicolour decks were rarer than they are in Diva, despite the older formats having no restrictions on colour, as well as more Servants with multi-ener to help play off-colour cards.

@@d4eda1us I'm not super on top of the scene in Japan, but my understanding is that while Diva is the focus, other formats are still firing events. I've seen a few all-star deck lists recently using a few Diva SIGNI, so they're still evolving as formats. All-star in particular also got a few exclusive boosters during Key, so there's definitely interest in keeping the format alive. As for the english release, we've just got Diva for now.

It'll be a weird matchup. Diva cards are much faster than pre-key decks, but Diva doesn't have much survivability in the late stages of the game. It'll mostly come down to the race to level 4, since Diva doesn't have much that can really compete against LRIGs and SIGNI at that level. My testing so far has shown older decks struggle a bit against Diva, but that's mostly starter deck vs starter deck - more tuned lists of pre-key cards will still probably be favoured to win. It also depends on the deck - decks like No Limit that lean into Diva's faster pace will be harder to beat than the midrange decks of Diva, like Ancient Surprise or Diagram.

Tons of people played it when it was the only format available. :) Jokes aside, I know some people still keep decks limited to classic so they can revisit its gameplay, since each era is pretty distinct and classic gameplay does have its own charm. It's not officially supported, though.

Yep. First set to release in english is the first set of Diva format. Which is nice since it means we're getting the full format as releases catch up, but so far it doesn't look like there's any plans to bring the older formats over.

Apparently Key will continue to expend with all new releases, so it's kind of like all-star, except without the classic-format cards. In practice, I don't really see Key format surviving - players wanting to play the new cards will play Diva, and players wanting a larger card pool will stick to all-star.

@@piko_kyunnchannel5372 If you want to go super budget, the gameplay out of just precons is surprisingly really good. As long as both players stay at similar budgets, though, Wixoss is usually a good time no matter how much or how little you spend.
