There are some amazing ideas here if a director wants to stage a new version of The Wizard of Oz: the pulsing blocks of gold, gold blocks mixed with blocks of green grass, the Yellow Brick Road bathed in sunlight, the Dancing Lions, the Dancing Witches in green dresses (instead of green faces), and Dorothy's gold dress!

Entirely. I'm SO ambivalent about it all. On one hand it's pretty much the most fascinating thing happening right now. It's astonishing indeed. It's also....going to completely upend our humanity and creativity. This isn't merely some new invention like all the others. It's a *_new kind of mind._* That's novel. And the speed of progress is ridiculous. In 5 years literally anything will be possible.

Really cool! It is so weird how these all have the similar dream logic, things morphing into each other and into other things completely. I bet if someone developed technology to watch our dreams, they would look remarkably similar to these AI generated videos. I wonder if there's something to that, like how computers are slowly evolving their intelligence and this is the first baby steps, or maybe I'm looking to hard into this when I should be sleeping, lol.

Yep...that's one of the first things I thought when looking at all these AI generated images and videos. They even had the same hurdles and technical difficulties like drawing hands and stuff like that. Artists in the old way back years used to charge extra for drawing or painting hands because there were hard and time consuming to get right. It's honestly startling how similar this will probably be to how humans visualize things.

Around 15 years ago, there was a prototype machine for reading visual thoughts and translating them onto a screen. It would create very blurred, distorted images, but it was able to do it. One of the things they wanted to do with it was to make electronic recordings of dreams. I don't know what's become of that technology since, as I haven't heard anything from it afterwards.
