Pip conversion for other schools is very handy with roshambos for example as a balance with full pips you can have fire pip conversion and then at max pips and just meltdown into elemental dispel into a balance jinn.

IAMNOVUS Thank you for the guide. I going to have 1 or 2 more times before I really get it. Question: since Archmastery technically starts at lvl 50 and you showed off a pin that is lvl 80, do you think there will be some gear that will be updated around that lvl to take advantage of those pins?

No, pins are exclusive to level 160+ gear. The level on those is autogenerated because new accuracy since the gear audit is lower to account for power creep but the name is autogenerated as low level value or something.

u lost me at tht last part. So are you saying that there's gears out there ie a hat that has two sword pins and a power pin instead of that shield pin slot? Or that they're always going to have that same slot layout across every gear that can be found in Novus? Im unsure what would be the benefit or predicting anything if its right there

So hats will always have 2 sword pins by default (the bottom two pins in the stack of 3) and that third slot will be either a shield pin or a power pin. In general, the bottom two pin slots are the same for every hat (2 swords) every robe (1 power 1 sword) and every boots (1 power 1 sword) regardless of template. It's the top pin slot that depends on the template. Gear that is Damage 1 Utility 2 will have a power pin up there because the only pieces that can have that third slot as a sword pin are the robe and boots, leaving the hat the only place where the power pin could fit for that template. Also any gear that has Utility as its primary stat type for the template will also have a power slot on the hat, but that template will also have a power slot as its top slot on the boots as well.

IAMNOVUS Ferric don't you think Defensive schools should get less damage? Offensive schools already get lower resist ans higher damage, so why not the other way around for the defensive? Also, I find disappointing that Life gets MORE health than Ice, and almost literally the same resist. Do you? EDIT : I'm SO disappointed other schools can't get healing. It would have been understandable if we had less, but not none! I'm considering myself to be an Ice main, and we all know that Ice partially/completely solo players generally use life masteries for heal and stuff. So I'm really really sad I won't get to have these

Nothing is stopping you from using mastery amulets. They are still good. Especially if you have the exulted ones that give stats

I feel like the shield pins need a rework. why does it give you shield pins to a school you counter? it makes counter matchups basically impossible for the countered school. I feel like Shield pins should be allowed to be used on schools that counter you. I'll use death and storm for example since it's the most literal counter. Storm heals, blades, and has only single hits, death counters all of that with weakness spam, so why does death get the extra resist to storm and not the other way around? I think it should go the other way around, or better yet, both to give diversity in what someone does

From my point of view, they're meant to solidify the counter in the event that the school you are supposed to counter becomes so strong that even the counter matchup is difficult to win. It's all to encourage multi-school playing.

No such thing exists unfortunately. Just certain jewels and all pins can safely be unsocketed without shattering.

so, question specifically about fire if anyone has the answer: anyone know how to get full pips and acc with this gear?? originally i was thinking that i could use aeon hat and boots and mali robe. however this only gives 27 accuracy, and the other sockets on athame and deck would be needed for pips. i was hoping i could socket fire acc with pins, but i guess not. 😓 IMO all schools at 150 are better off with merc except for fire (for pve at least), which is the only school still using dragoon. is fire going to be stuck with dragoon for another 10 levels ??? or anyone know how to get full pips and acc with this gear??

If you want to have full pips and accuracy with this gear, your best bet is malevolent hat, mali robe + the rest of this gear (or if tenni'syn works use that). If you are fortunate enough to get the fire nullity robe from raids, that with the malevolent hat + the rest of the Aeon stuff is probably the best. I'll be making a video on a setup with and without raid gear for max offense once the world comes to live realm.

Pip chance is a universal stat that benefits your own school too, therefore you'll have to get it from jewels and not pins.

@@ferric so for pve, malistaire/tennys robes are still best ones since we can’t add pip casts and accuracy casts to aeon hat robe and boots, right?

@@kanestorm9244 Technically the raid nullity robe is the best in slot PvE robe for all schools but yes if you don't have it, you'd use malistsire or tennisyn. For the hat, unless you're life, you're probably using malevolent hat (unless merciless works with mali/tenni).

@@ferric my main account is storm max, i was thinking to use all aeon gear, except robe and deck, with full damage pet, but nullity robe loses a lot of accuracy especially for storm, i just dont know how to fix this or i would be fine
