I’ve seen 3 different people play versions of the Tibalt’s Trickery combo deck. It is chaos personified (I love it). Mono Black Magic’s version is brilliant because he added Wishclaw which managed to up the craziness on an already insane deck. I absolutely loved the video, the game play, Chris’s reaction when he hits the combo (brilliant), Chris’s reaction when he misses the combo (equally brilliant), and (spoilers) what happened when he hit Omniscience with nothing in hand (absolutely hilarious). Then there was the montage & the outro video. These 2 parts were absolutely amazing, clever and well produced. Mono Black Magic is brilliant & his videos are absolutely hilarious. Thanks for the awesome content!!!

if you look at Day9's version he played his live and had pretty amazing (over 50% winrate with it) results lol. His version was standard, 8 0manas, no claw, and a shitton of finishers. And a lot of scrylands. And the idea was to keep a hand with trickery and scry to a 0mana card. His math shows this works suprisingly often ;D

Dude, that montage part was Epic and fits with some of the decks you run to just see what happens at key points. Been seeing this deck a decent amount in the play queue and awesome to see you pilot it and your comments about it. Truly a nuts deck that either pwns or curls up and dies. Which is how Magic should be when you're just playing for wins and happy to let opponents get wins by scooping. Yet I pilot some decks that I have to aggressively mulligan down to five sometimes to get what I need, so zero shame in scooping and giving the opponent a free win. Which brings me to the ideal of how Magic can be played without competition was a time when everyone in school was set into pairs and there was 60 seconds to see who can have the most rounds of arm wrestling completed. After the minute, the teacher explained how you could have easily gotten 120 games, simply conceding then getting a free win, and back and forth. Which blew my mind when it came to the ideal of scooping and I have zero shame in playing decks that are CoMpLeTe jank with the knowledge it is truly a gamble. Which this deck is the Epitome of jank and where WotC truly if off their rockers to print Tibalt's trickery when the combos I've only read about (don't play the format) are beyond nuts and I'd easily bet my left nut for a million dollars that it will be restricted in Vintage within two months, or whenever true competitive starts back up. Where having Arena is awesome to be able to play and stay safe, may you all pwn your opponents with whatever fits your playstyle. There is no "best deck", only what you're best at piloting.

I played against a deck like that once in low ranked Historic he milled Ulumag but got a 2 Mana card anf that 3 times with different Trickeries and then he did quit. I was playing Budget Orzhov Aristocrat

I just found an even more fun variation of this: Ulamog, captive audience, cruel reality, apex of power, whatever floats your boat in Rakdos, Tibalt's Trickery, And fill the rest with Rat Colony! A little slower because you have to counter the rat turn four, but if you don't draw trickery you kill them with rats and if they play control you hard cast the big nasties later.

Another good cards to use in this is Gensis Ultimatum because all the creatures in your deck are insane (though I guess you could whiff and only hit lands and your few not broken cards) Edit: Also, one of the new cards, Old Gnawbone, works really well because it creates 7 treasure tokens a turn (assuming your opponent doesn't have a plethora of reach and flying creatues) to cast cards from your hand

Use Cragplate Baloth/Carnage Tyrant. In case u don't have enaugh monocolored stuff left for Trickery when casting Emergent Ultimatum you can attempt to counter Baloth with Trickery to get another free spell

Probably one of the worst decissions. Gives you just one plain-land one time and a cute blocker, apart from the fact that he doesn't have any white spells in his deck. You just don't need mana ramp with cards like Omniscience and Emergent- / Genesis Ultimatum in this deck which let you play cards without paying mana costs.

@@nomenestomen3452 i personally misread trickery for a long time and thought i saw “that shares a type” in there so t2 birth grabs a land and a 0/4 then gives you an out for tt into either a creature or an enchantment. But also yes mbm relies heavily on birth. Which is a 2 mana rampent growth in white that helps against early game aggro
