That's the thing. Because of the way she used her magic she remembered, and learned everything. Justin just studied over and over. Alex actually put the magic together even if for personal gain, she used magic and remembered the spell incase she needed it again one day. If you dont use it and instead just study the spell itself, your likely not going to remember it. It's like with everything else in life. You dont use it, you lose it(educational wise)
