Glad there are commentators like Phil that will relentlessly point out the insane smash DI's by Wizzy. I never got good enough at the game to consider doing all the crazy stuff players do nowadays like consistent smash DI, pivots, shield drops, ledge dashes, etc etc. Melee is a crazy game; just consistently shffl-ing (short hop, fast fall, l-cancel) my aerials and and clean wave dashing was enough to keep my boomer hands occupied. But good, timely commentary over the years has made me much better at being able to process the incredible skill of these players. The commentary and community is better off when stuff like 5:07 and 5:26 is called out as it happens. It's really crazy how hard that is to do but also how much of an advantage it is to do so. And ~five years ago it would've gone over my head, so shoutouts to Phil and other commentators that highlight technical skills as they happen.

Would’ve definitely wanted to see Wizzy have a chance at either Zain or IBDW, losing two sets 3-2 to mango seems a bit anti-climactic for him considering how excellent he was playing all weekend, really wanted a set against one of those other guys :( Still though, GG’s to both guys🔥🔥🔥

@@56mdk Wizzy beat mang0 on Slippi and has went game 5 last stock vs him every set since. It's not that bad anymore; Wizzy can touch of death falco consistently. Wizzy 3-0'd Ginger and Magi in bracket. He just needs to clutch the last stock vs mang0.

Dlord1PlayStation To be fair, you’re basing all of that solely on Wizzy’s performance. The matchup is never going to be good for Falcon since lasers just ruin our movement - which is what makes our character. Wizzy even said in his matchup chart that playing against Falco is a major challenge.

​@@Sethekk11 At this point though, Wizzy has had enough experience playing Mang0 to understand that it's Mang0 and not Falco. He definitely does not really have a Falco problem and I don't know why this narrative continues to exist. Yes, the match up sucks, but Wizzy is good enough to make the match up difficult for the opposing Falco that he should be able to win by playing better than Mang0. Mang0 is really just the only Falco that execution tests Wizzy.

@@brendonelliott4499 I'm going to lay context and say I play poker; I'm also going to make an assumption that your comment kind of relates to the classic game theory optimal vs exploitative argument in poker. Exploitative some times generates higher expected value but is dangerous when your assumptions are wrong/ allow you to be counter exploited.

@@brendonelliott4499 ie in a game of rock paper scissors, the optimal way to play would be to generate a randomness of 1 to 3 between rock, paper, and scissors, and exploit opponent's tendencies to lean towards an unbalanced strategy. The random number generated player will without a doubt win long run. However, if you found out that said opponent leans rock >33% of the time, mashing paper will become the best strategy albeit not "correct" I equate this topic a lot to smash and with so much going on I think part of mang0's greatness is the ability to find these options so I wouldn't necessarily call it "wrong"
