Im a kotada fan, but the refereeing was an outright disgrace!!! All George's were questionable. His first had no hips and no kime (point should have gone to aka or aiuch at best). His second had his weight moving away (no score). And his kick hit the arm. The judge with the best view (right in front) didnt call it but the ref who had no view was immediate to call it. They should lose their license to rob someone of their hard work like that. so dissappointed in the WKF

Great atch for both competitors I think, but IMHO gripping that Mr. Kovacs got ripped off kind of degrades the effort both fighters put into this match. Both went in with the best intentions, after years of blood and sweat, one person came out on top today. I don't think it serves either competitor to say one deserved it over the other. So congratulations to both amazing fighters.

Man seeing this makes me sick. Just take a look at the first point awarded. If thats a point for anyone, it should be for Kovacs! Kotaka didn't even kiai lmfao, he knows he didnt score.

The Japanese judge sitting behind Kotaka is what made this fight go the way it did. Adam was the better fighter. Still, I think George is fucking phenomenal.

no doubt adam is world level, but george is george... when I was young I use to watch george win the adult divisions as a16 years old.... you will not find another karate fighter more dynamic than george... everyhting from his technique to his footwork is flawless... there use to be another guy in the dojo years ago who use to tool george, but that guy felt his calling was surfing in hawaii... I forgot his name it was long ago...

This is true now, however under the new WKF rules the referee has no vote now, as a EKF kumite Referee / Judge the referee cannot score a technique with out the support of a minimum of 2 flags now when this video was taken the rules stated that if you cant see you cant score it. Regarding your opponents jodan kick it depends on your age juniors and cadets you can have upto 10 centimetres away from the head adults upto 5 cenimetres away. It was maybe a bad call from the ref of your fight.

Sorry but that is incorrect the referee has no vote when it comes to scoring, he can stop the bout if he sees a score but without the support of 2 flags minimum he can not award any point. The only time the ref has a vote is in the event of a tie (Hikiwaki) because there is no Saishai I am a EKF Kumite Referee and Judge

George is amazing...usually. It is so sad when a referee can so clearly rob a fighter of all their hard work. The referee with the best view of the kick didn't call it. But the head ref with ZERO view did straight away. It makes no sense! What's more. George's 1st two points were pick off's where he had NO stance, NO kime, NO hips, and hardly any zanshin. Can someone tell me what happened to the WKF? They used to only score pick offs that looked like they would drop an opponent. So so sad?
