Take it from an ohioan who visits, we are in aw of highway overpasses they trump our local "tropical" botanical gardens. They are apart of what brings us back year after year.

One of the silliest videos I’ve ever seen. Florida being criticized for making there city’s look great with these amazing palm trees. No that money shouldn’t need to go to schools of the homeless. They don’t teach anything of value in schools after the 4th grade. Why would anyone want to give to the homeless. Homeless people need to work like the rest of us. This ain’t a free ride. Work or leave.

I and my colleagues planted all those palm trees in the area of Caselberry Fl, it was like in 2015, now I work for my own company, with good experience in tree maintenance and palm trees 👍🏼

They are gorgeous and at $2,500 each they are a steal. We tried getting one of those here in California and the nursery wanted $25,000! Makes Florida unique 👍

Yes and the native cabbage palms look like h e ll hockey sticks ... Never heard someone criticize trying to make a town look beautiful

This is spot on. They look great for a year. Then not maintained because it's a ton of work and expensive...end up looking like crap compared to initial. Government is just stupid.

In my country we have the same climate as California (mediterranean) ... but we don’t use palms as much as LA uses for example.. although we could... the ones we have (that are not that much) are mainly washies, dates and (Phoenix canariensis that are almost all dead due to a bug )... so our problem is the opposite funny enough 😅😂 btw I live in Portugal 🇵🇹 in Europe

@@md_randoms2429 you are responding without doing your homework. Many hardy palms grow in the ground in MD and are not damaged in the winters. Needle Palm, Chinese Windmill Palm, Saw Palmetto and Dwarf Palmetto are the top ones. They are even grown in NYC.

@@thefunguy5069 eh. That's subjective to the viewer. It is not the rule. You could trim the native palms and still save money and the environment. The native palms would fair better.
