Jim Donovan. Just joy and love comes to mind. I fought Sickle Cell Disease in the Seidman Cancer Center while Jim fought Leukemia. Same floor, rooms right down and across from each other. My grandfather, RIP, was by my side when i said, "Dad! Thats Jim Donovan! Do you think he'll want to speak to me?" I approached Jim as if he were a Browns player himself and he was so kind. I met someone who made my day that and every day we spent on that hospital floor while we were both battling and suffering. But he was so kind to me and my grandad. I was in my twenties and he made me feel like i was a kid again. Just such a kind man. Tears fall as type this thinking of him and my grandfather. Two of the kindest, most beautiful men ive had the pleasure of being around. Little did he know. Ill keep fighting Jim as your fight has come to an end. RIP AND LOVE TO THE GREAT JIMMY D ❤

Cincinnati sports fan here. I've listened to many Bengals-Browns radio broadcasts on the Cleveland side, and watched quite a few games on NBC when Jim Donovan was an announcer with them. He loved what he did, and he did what he loved. Excellent broadcaster, and may he rest in peace.

Cleveland sports fans have been blessed to have the privilege of listening to so many great voices over the years. Voices like Gib Shanley, Joe Tate, Herb Score, Nev Chandler, and Tom Hamilton. There will only be one Jim Donovan. Thank you, Jimmy D, for being the voice of a generation of Cleveland sports fans, and for providing us with so many wonderful memories and moments. "RUN, WILLIAM, RUN!"😢

What a warm, talented, upstanding man. Jimmy was Cleveland football. We were privileged to hear his play-by-play calls and his insights into the games. Sadly, nothing good lasts forever. Before the Browns returned, we got to hear Jim Donovan call NFL games on NBC. Most of the time, the games he called were lower rung games. However he also got the chance to fill in and call games with the likes of Bob Trumpy and Paul Maguire. You could hear his passion on his broadcasts. He will be missed

The best compliment I can give is that you will be missed by the many fans who never had the pleasure of meeting you.😢

I've had the honor to meet Jimmy. Shake his hand. I wish I could say I had a conversation but my elementary age combined with my elementary social skills, denied me that. But know what? Jimmy didn't deny me a conversation. He tried to start one with me, just a kid and sports fan. His energy was genuine and so was the kindness he displayed. We literally don't have anything to look forward to anymore in the browns. Cleveland Loves you Jimmy
