Unrelated to the engineering, but the way the tower and the helicopter look like they're spinning/in motion past 6:20 is the same effect you see in lots of 'ufo' videos, and can give the illusion of huge speed and instant changes in direction when the object itself might be moving much slower, or even not moving at all.

This footage wasn’t taken with a drone. WLKY has their own helicopter which they no doubt used here. No drone is going to focus and zoom this smoothly. This is some epic camera work. I think that the circling of the camera may have been to keep the helo out of having to hover for so long far easier to circle slowly.

@IstasPumaNevada7 күн бұрын
@@localcrew I mean, you are right. It's more fuel efficient and safer for a helicopter to move forward than to hover, so I imagine that's why the filming helicopter was circling.

I don't know for sure why, but I do know that it's more fuel efficient and less dangerous for a helicopter to be moving forward than to be hovering in place. So maybe that's why the filming helicopter was circling.

There are actually 2 pilots on these lifts: 1 flying the crane and the other facing backward controlling the line that lifts and places the object on the top of the tower.
