Great video! I picked up one of these and upgraded it to oil shocks and a 2s 50c li po. It gave it a lot more punch and less stalling on the motors. For the price it's a really fun trail truck.

Could you please share what kind of shocks you used? Original shocks have slightly offset mounting on the top so Im not sure all normal shocks would fit.

Hello. I liked your presentation and bought this car. It has two problems- major one is weak servro. Is ut possible to upgrade? Can you suggest stronger one that is compatible? And second problem is it´s steering angle, it is very small- again, can it be upgraded and how please?
@theminiatureconstructionco455619 күн бұрын
Hello. Not sure about the servo as it uses a strange size and its five wire (from memory). Sometimes you can grind the stops on the steering to increase the angle.

And me! It does lack refinement and there's not much in the way of a slow speed 'crawl' , but it keeps on trucking! 👍😄

I only drive this truck on the flat road. I just love the proportional control. It's bad for crawling, but for slow casual driving, it's perfect!

so i got a small 1/18 version of this i took axles out and drilled through the final drive gear into the axle i then screwed through the gear into the axle. when the rear stalls out or the front its that final drive gear free spinning on that axle they are not mounted very good, after i did that the amount of torque and power jumped up a bit and made it work 10 times better now both front and rear never stall out on me and spin when accelrator is hit

I got a problem for this Wltoys 104310... the Steering not working.. what happened? My truck doesn't have any damages *at all*. How do I fix this issue? I need to custom upgrade it? Man, I can't do that technobubbles.

Has the servo packed up? The receiver board on those has no protection, if it gets wet it can go pop! 😱👍

I've got a copy of this car from Costco, branded "Trail Blaze 4x4". It looks the same but with red body, no trim on the controller, and non-proportional steering/throttle. Crashed it and broke one of the front wheel plastic hub connectors - not sure how to fix it? Doesn't seem many parts available.

All the parts are available here in the UK for the Wltoys variant. If you want I can give you my email and you can send me some pics of the broken part may be able to help? 👍😊

@@theminiatureconstructionco4556 agree, 55-60 bucks US for a 1/10 size fully proportional RTR isn't bad at all. went a bit long commenting little things that could improve it without spending much real money or time... going into the axles for clearancing the pinion, or swapping in a tooth smaller pinion to both motors WOULD be "fun" (not!) and take near an hour of time either way.. still isn't too bad really.

its "better toy quality" at least, fully proportional and decent flex. for the price, not bad, slightly larger motors or lower gearing would do it nicer. its not unlike the Recdat/Danchee "Trail Hunter" I have, is a little better on power and flex, it also has motor braking to its two slightly larger motors. Trail Hunter might be hard to find now, its also "pogo stick shocks" but much smoother on the damping, not springy. what I'd do to that 104310 would be minimalist, give it a LiPo, throw some really sticky grease into the shock body pogo sticks (can they be inverted?) for a little more damping, and call it art. Trail Hunter doesn't stall a motor TOO easily but can, like you said "don't grab more throttle, back up and take a run at it instead".. unless you want to cook a motor real quick (I don't!). for a beginner it looks like a fair enough "little" rig, the 1/10 size is nice enough, I like the look of the body too (I did look for a "Ridge Rock" body to slap onto the "Trail Hunter" but went with an inexpensive painted Jeep on it). tires.. that looks like typical 1.9" rims, some better rubber about 12-16 mm shorter would lower the CG and lend it a shorter roll-out, aka lower the gear ratio motor to ground total.. so a cheap set of crawler tires like that to slap on it would be worth a look, they'd slow it down a little and it'd be harder to stall a motor. sure you lose center+axle clearance doing it, as you gain some torque... without going into the axles internals, isn't fun. if it has typical 12mm hexes even better (Trail Hunter sure doesn't but has pretty aggressive stock tread lugs). in the run part of the video, sounds a little noisy like a little too tight a mesh between motors and primary spur gears? not seeing it in person idk if 1 tooth smaller motor pinions would help, or if a thin shim against a motor side to give the gears a little more clearance are solutions.. 1 tooth smaller pinions would help torque, would it need a motor shim to put the pinion closer to the spur if done 1 tooth smaller? just going by what I'd heard in the running section, if I owned one those are little mod options I'd look at, either way wouldn't cost a dollar to do. so there it is.. possible a little time and 10-12 bucks not counting a LiPo (cheap tires, two motor pinion gears?) could improve it a bunch if you're up for a little tinkering. if it can take 1 tooth smaller pinion and slightly shorter more aggressive tires.. it could be pretty strong crawling and climbing. sometimes it doesn't much.

Tyres are a weird fitment, not 12mm Hex's. But a little bit of damping and a bit more go would be welcome. 👍
@modelnutty65033 жыл бұрын
@@theminiatureconstructionco4556 yupyup, figured it wasn't 12 mm hexes, rims do look 1.9" size. slightly shorter tires and possibly 1 tooth smaller pinions would take a good amount of load off the motors without spending much. a little less axle clearance isn't a huge sacrifice if it climbs stronger :)

@@semperatis yup, the "Ridge Rock" aka "Ravine" is a BEAST of a half toy+hobby grade rig for around 120-130 bucks. flex out the wazoo and 4WS too, I really liked the body swap Tony did to his. this 104310 is more comparable to the Redcat/Danchee "Trail Hunter" I have here.
