liking this series a lot, this may work or not, with old school pan cars both rubber and foam rubber tires, we got them wet with WD-40, let them sit a little while then wiped them clean. it'd soften the rubber and open the grain some for much better traction. doesn't work as well if the rubber has a higher content of silicone, is oil resistant.

0:15 the tire perfect for rcp track?
@BeaversHobby3 жыл бұрын
If you can only buy from Banggood, yes, these are the best tyres for RCP there. Otherwise look for Mini-Z radial, PN Racing or Marka. Marka has a great tyres selection for RCP.

I’ve noticed some people use wide tires on the rear and narrow front. Others, same size all around. Is one setup better for drift and the other touring??
@BeaversHobby Жыл бұрын
Generally for touring front narrow and rear wide has better handling because of the contact patch. All narrow is a bit twitchy as far as I've tried. For drifting it doesn't matter that much because most of the tyres are curved and got roughly the same contact patch. We do front narrow rear wide on drift for aesthetic reasons.

My WLtoys 284131 will spin out if i go too fast on my ceramic floor. Is this normal?
@BeaversHobby2 жыл бұрын
That's pretty normal on a slippery floor. Still you can trim the steering to make sure it goes straight as much as possible and check if any of the wheels and diffs are too tight. These will help but once the tyres are slipping, that's it. It'll go into spin.

Hi Does tamiya blue sponge tires fit on wide rim for WLtoys 1/28? Tamiya blue sponge tires come with two narrow and two wide ?
@BeaversHobby2 жыл бұрын
Yes they do. The kit I got is 2 narrow and 2 wide. They are wider than Mini-Z wheels (what WLtoys uses) so you will have to trim them a bit to get the width right.

Hi mate, is the tamiya sponge tyre fit with firelap 20mm diameter rim? I got the rim and i wish to upgrade to tamiya sponge tyres, please advice, tq 😁😁😁
@BeaversHobby5 жыл бұрын
Yes, they fit. But the outer diameter is larger than standard tyres so you'll have to trim them.

This is my first hobby grade RC car and it has a behaviour I am not sure is normal: If I just pulled the throttle trigger for the car to go forward and is now in neutral position, I need to push the throttle trigger twice for the car to go backwards, just once will not make the car move backwards. Is this normal in this model?
@BeaversHobby5 жыл бұрын
Yes, it's normal. It's brake. If you go directly from pulling to pushing the car will brake. You can lift the car up to see if you do that the wheels will stop. But of you just let go of throttle gently to the centre the wheels will continue to roll a bit. Here is how you control the throttle, pull to go forward, pull then push to brake, come back to centre and push again to reverse.

Wait can u use the normal Wltoys rims
@BeaversHobby6 жыл бұрын
Yes but you'll need to really glue the tyres in with tyre glue because inside of WL wheels is hollowed out. Also WL wheels are all narrow.

Beaver's Hobby ok probably I won’t put glue cuz I’m lazy

Help... Which offset wheels from RC-Aurora?
@BeaversHobby6 жыл бұрын
It depends on the width of your body. Try 0 first and if it's too narrow try to increase the offset by 1. Actually the offset count from RC-Aurora is the same as Kyosho.

Did you have to make any adjustments or modifications to the Mini-Q diff (like in your first WL Toys K989 video) before putting it in or will it work right out of the box?
@BeaversHobby4 жыл бұрын
I replaced the swing shafts with long shafts. www.miracle-mart.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=67_74_1029&products_id=13988 The diff fit inside the gearbox directly.

Can you dye the Tamiya foams black?
@BeaversHobby5 жыл бұрын
I've never tried it but it's sponge (or reston?) so... probably not. The paint either won't stick or shredding off so fast.
@shanec88125 жыл бұрын
@@BeaversHobby Thanks for the reply Beaver. I was thinking Fabric Dye not paint. I have used it to dye fabric and also rc plastics to black. Since it isn't a paint it is permanent and does not effect foam quality. kzbin.info/www/bejne/faPKopeNq76UndU

You should get an air purifier it will help cut down on dust if you have a big room you may need two of them one on each side other room they are very good for breathing! But beavers like a little dust so they're lip don't get stuck to their teeth. So much it will be hard to talk with your lip getting stuck to your tooth all the time.

I want to do speed runs and race my micro should I get a mini q or wltoys car iv had a wltoys micro in the past and they are fast but the mini q looks of better quality
@BeaversHobby6 жыл бұрын
Get a Mini-Q Q7. It's a much better car to drive, much better build and you don't have to fix anything to get it running. Just adjust the arms to get the alignment right (normally it's a bit off from the factory) and it's fantastic. Included tyres are also good. Other option is Atomic AMZ. That's also a good car but you'll need to provide your own electronics, transmitter, wheels and tyres. If the budget allows, there are GL Racing GLA and Atomic SZ or BZ to consider.
@jumpstartrc15716 жыл бұрын
Beaver's Hobby I do have my own electronics I was also looking into getting a gla or atomic micro have you had any experience with them
@BeaversHobby6 жыл бұрын
No, I haven't tried them all. But I talked to people who have some of them and the ranking is Q7 > AMZ > WL. Q7 being the easiest to drive and his personal favourite.
@jumpstartrc15716 жыл бұрын
Beaver's Hobby rc driver also has a video of a company called x power that make high end micros
@BeaversHobby6 жыл бұрын
I forgot to mention X-Power MIT. It's one of 2 belt drive micros (this and Atomic BZ). The owner said screw holes worn out too easily. Apart form that it's really good to drive, not as easy as Q7 but still good. If you got a proper track and look for RWD racer, Jomurema is also interesting and I haven't found any review or info in English yet.

shame the diffs are so bad ... now it make this car more expensive ... one this I would suggest is try to do the track with less on off the throttle ... and force yourself to drive always on power ... this will force you to drive a better / smoother line .
