Very helpful review, thank you Dr. Riddle. I agree with your view, that defenders of modern versions should have the courage of their convictions and remove from their Bibles those portions they argue are not authentic and inspired scripture. Failure to do so seems to be weakness on their part, or perhaps a concern over a loss in sales? If that’s the issue, none of them are qualified to be elders, since that would be a clear case of being “given to filthy lucre” (Tit. 1:7). Oops, someone will have to explain to Mark Ward what that means, since it’s unintelligible to modern men…

Since I have found Dr. Riddles channel, it gives me renewed hope for the vindication of the RT. I long ago became convinced of the superiority and trustworthiness of the KJV, my convictions based upon the Bible doctrine of preservation (probably the most neglected doctrine among modern evangelicals) and that God and Christ both implicitly and explicitly promised, in many passages, their truth to be preserved inerrant to every generation. Thankyou for defending God's Word.

I am AMAZED that there might have been 1 or 2 or 3 writers that could compose The PA or JC or the long ending of Mark and insert these passages in the bible and have millions of Christians and their pastors read, believe and hear the shepherd in these passages. These writers must have been thinkers on the level of the Lord Jesus to craft these golden rules that sound just like the ones Jesus spoke. Nobody else in history has come close to these perfect sayings but 3 anonymous unfaithful deceptive scribes took it upon themselves to violate the scripture by inserting ANYTHING into it.

Loved your comments and they were very on point. Another good point to be made, is that with all the proofs and reasoning that builds the argument a textual critic will have against a text - on the other side, you have the same proofs and reasoning for building arguments back to support the questioned textual position: this was another great case. And the believer is, ultimately left, in the end, with faith (in human reasoning or in the providential preservation of an Almighty God) - which is really what this all comes down to. Also, I suppose you could sum up Gurry’s position or reasoning for leaving these random words (of the PA) in such an inspired work as the Bible as: “that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, …”…but I would suppose that he would reason that Christ really didn’t say that either. Grace and Peace.

Brother Riddle, I am going to cut right to the chase. These young men like Peter Gurry, Timothy Berg, Mark Ward, and their mentors like James White etc... are in real serious trouble with God Almighty. They have made themselves the enemies of the True Gospel of Christ Jesus.

If he believes it is not the Word of God, then he should have declined the offer to preach it. The pulpit is for preachers who believe in the passages they preach from, not for skeptics. I feel sorry for the sheep who had to suffer this "sermon." Shameful!🤔🧐☹Thanks for this revealing video! Blessings! 🙋🏼‍♂️😊🙏📖

Didymus the Blind (c. 313 - 398), a Greek speaking theologian from Alexandria, in his commentary on Ecclesiastes, recounts the pericope of the woman caught in adultery and says it is found “in certain gospels.” Jerome came to him for a month in order to have his doubts resolved with regard to difficult passages of Scripture. Bing searches While this is circumstantial. I feel it is probable Jerome asked him about the PA and we know where Jerome put the PA in John. Peace

Does Mr Gurry think constantly saying “right” makes him more persuasive?

The PA, if "spurious" is not worthy of the designation "true" of "redeemed". Either believe it or toss it. But be consistent

Are the gospels legends? Another point is that on that view you would have to regard the accounts of the Man as being legends. Now, as a literary historian, I am perfectly convinced that whatever else the Gospels are they are not legends. I have read a great deal of legend and I am quite clear that they are not the same sort of thing. They are not artistic enough to be legends. From an imaginative point of view they are clumsy, they don’t work up to things properly. Most of the life of Jesus is totally unknown to us, as is the life of anyone else who lived at that time, and no people building up a legend would allow that to be so. Apart from bits of the Platonic dialogues, there are no conversations that I know of in ancient literature like the Fourth Gospel. There is nothing, even in modern literature, until about a hundred years ago when the realistic novel came into existence. In the story of the woman taken in adultery we are told Christ bent down and scribbled in the dust with His finger. Nothing comes of this. No one has ever based any doctrine on it. And the art of inventing little irrelevant details to make an imaginary scene more convincing is a purely modern art. Surely the only explanation of this passage is that the thing really happened? The author put it in simply because he had seen it. C.S. Lewis, "What Are We to Make of Jesus Christ?" (1950)
