Things are actually so bad that most people don't even dare to leave a comment on the guestion you proposed, since it could entail a legal investigation, severe oppression by the state or country people reside in and blatant mishandling of the justice system, just because one would even dare to go against or guestion a protected group as powerful as this. You can never know what a person's personal beliefs are just based on them being muslim. People view their religion in different ways, and may not be able to really leave their religion. Perhaps they wear religious clothing and pray for traditional reasons, but are perfectly fine people. I have known quite a few Muslims now personally and they have been great people. So if you can be discriminatory against an entire religion, I can be entirely discriminatory towards Christianity

A friend of mine in the US spent about a year looking into Islam as a religion, speaking to people around her, and eventully she decided to convert. She'd been telling me about it for a while and saying about how she's looking forward to it. And then the date came and went and she said nothing about it for months. Eventually I brought it up and she told me what happened. Prior to her becoming a muslim she had been told by everyone around her what she'd have to do, what rules to live by, etc, but when she actually went through with her conversion to Islam it all changed. They basically said _"Welcome to Islam. By the way, now that you're one of us we can tell you that all that stuff we told you before was a pack of lies. Here's what you really have to do and the rules you really have to live by."_ One of the rules that she was told about was that if her partner has not converted to Islam within 6 months then she must leave him. Obviously she wasn't willing to do that so she immediately left the religion.

A study came out by Rutgers’s NCRI lab which studies social media based political phenomenons. I remember VERY well the conversations I had, as a young girl, with ordinary every day turkish & lebanese muslims boys/young men over 40 years ago. I lived in the deep south east of Melbourne, Australia. These young muslim men were interested in me as a potential girlfriend, maybe wife, because they would often want to take me to meet their parents. I remember asking questions about their belief system & how it sat in Australia. It was always the same answers. To grow their movement & take over via conversion ...and why not, what's wrong with that they would say. They had NO interest in protecting or preserving Australian culture or values. To their mind why would they, after all islam is the FINAL word of allah ....right... Nothing will change about them because they CAN NOT change.

It's extremely dangerous as a woman to leave islam. The violence perpetuated against daughters and wives and women who veer away from the faith is heinous. I left an abusive husband and islam. I had to fight for a court in US to understand the very real threats of death my children and I faced and had received. There's large parts of the world I cannot travel for fear of death. My children have muslim names but are all atheists now and they face the danger as well of being recognized as exmuslims even in the west. The threat is REAL. You just do not have to watch your back if you left any other belief system.

When Ridvan is talking about the Iranian revolution and their "useful idiots," it reminds me of what happened in a small city in the US, which I can't help but be amused by. (It's a much lighter situation than in Iran!) This is a town that leans lefty, and they found themselves with a rather high population of Muslims - perhaps "spillover" from Dearborn, MI. I believe it's called Hamtramck. Anyway, the lefties voted in plenty of Muslims onto the city council, because they're not racist/religionist! And guess what? The Muslim majority voted to not fund or allow the LGBTQI flags on city property during Pride month!
