It was around this same period that, on WNBC Channel 4 in New York, a significant change occurred within what was then still "NewsCenter4," when Sue Simmons began a 32-year run at the station, sitting on the 11 P.M. edition alongside Chuck Scarborough. Soon she will also be co-hosting "Live At Five" first with Jack Cafferty, then others.

If this WMAQ NewsCenter 5 late edition was from Thursday, Feb. 21, 1980, then why do many of the graphics still have the former trapezoidal N, and not the 1979 Proud N (even though the Proud N can be seen in limited evidence on a reporter's mic flag)?

I was born 10 months after this aired. And lol at the anchorman asking Andy Shaw why Mayor Byrne isn't speaking about the firefighters strike, no wonder she was a one-term mayor, Lightfoot will be one too, I hope.
