You can't owe on revenue sharing. Even if your revenue is 50 cents sharing that would be 25 cents. You are thinking of profits sharing which is why they aren't asking for that. They want a cut of the money coming in only and ignoring the loss (which would be greater) and letting the NBA deal with the loss. It's hilarious honestly, they will destroy their own league by being selfish (well cost the NBA a lot more money).

The gall to demand to be paid more in a league that LOSES over $10 million annually never ceases to confound me. I often hear how its unfair how the WNBA stars are treated especially when it comes to money but the funny thing is, if it actually was fair they would've had to shut shop over a decade ago. Hell, NBA players didn't make much until they started averaging around 18,000 fans a game. In the 80's the men literally had to double the average fanbase just to get their money, WNBA attendance gets worse every year despite the fact the NBA and their players have been giving them free promotion for decades.

Also dont frget that the NBA was actually DYING in the 80's they were LOSING viewership. Then along came a man by the name of Michael Jordan and all that changed. I actually love the league, I have a Goddaughter that plays in the league. But, what happened a couple of weeks ago, really pissed me off. An NBA player adked one of the stars in the league, about checking out a game. She ASSUMED that he was asking on a personal level, and she told him not to bother her. She blew him off. They are the main ones that swear that the NBA players dont support them. And another comment was ON POINT. These women aren't helping themselves with in person promoting. Women make up well over 50% of the consumer market as well as dramatically more than half of domestic spending (last number I read years ago was in the 68-74% range). This means the WNBA has a simple math issue in that not enough women are interested in the WNBA. I think Shaq had a great idea of just slightly lowering the rim. You’ll find a consistency in the most popular female sports like MMA, tennis etc in that the game feels the closest to their male counterparts. The sports that showcase the largest drop-off, such as basketball, aren’t as popular.

I'm near 50 yrs old so i was around when the league first began and i can say they put more effort into promotion when the league first started than they do now. The women back then weren't so entitled as the women today. They understood that to make people come and watch them, they had to make their league as popular as possible. Dawn Staley, Lisa Leslie, Shery Swoops and the like were presented as cool and hip. They had cameos in popular music videos and TV shows at the time, had cool commercials and embraced American patriotism in the Olympics. They put in the work and I'll bet the league's viewership was higher in their first few years than it's been the last 10. Today's WNBA doesn't promote itself well. In the era of social media, why aren't their players more visible with cool tik toks or Instagram pages? That's their fault. WNBA player today comes off as smug, delusiona, entitled l and unpleasant and last but not least is the impression that they're a lesbian sports league. That's just the truth. No one wants to see hard face broads running, sweating, jumping and grunting. Femininity is a factor in the coolness appeal. This league is a lost cost and it's mostly their own fault.

It's mind-blowing to hear the logic from this woman. If you want to make more money, you need to bring more eyes to the sport. With how big the WNBA is, it also blows my mind that not one of these geniuses can figure out a way to make this sport actually fun to watch! They need to stop pretending they are as good as NBA players, and change the entire presentation in a way that could peak anyone curiosity.

If you look at the evolution of the NBA, in the 60's and early 70's when if was still a league based mostly on shooting and layups (I'm trying to keep race out of this) it was largely unpopular. As more athletic players started entering the league in the 70's it became entertaining. However, most of those athletes were not marketable to mainstream America. It wasn't till the 80's that the NBA could take the entertaining athletic game along with marketable personalities like Magic, Bird, Dominique, and eventually Jordan that the league's popularity exploded. The WNBA needs to become entertaining, but just as importantly, they need to become athletic. I don't think either is possible.

But she was only over there trying to make money, she didn't deserve to get caught up in a political shitshow. We should've tried to bring her home, but we shouldn't have traded a war criminal to do so.

@strobavafwiffo1122 Maybe they are, it's true but let's keep it a 💯, I have watched some WNBA games until Lisa Leslie retired in 09, this isn't far from a regular game and the "good plays" are really few and far between. 🤷🏾‍♂️ If I told you "Imma sell you a car and most of the time, it's not working but at times, it runs really smooth", you'd say it's a sh*t car and you want nothing to do with it and rightfully so. Right? Look, I want the WNBA to succeed but it ain't owed and it needs to be fixed 1st, by lowering the rim which would help get rid of the barrage of lowlights and 2nd, by not trying to be like the NBA when it comes to salaries.

WNBA players in 90s and early 2000s worked way harder and Womens' basketball overall was better. I remember the Martin episode against the USA Women team. Lisa Leslie was a star and was everywhere. I actually watched the Tennessee vs UCONN college basketball games because they were so personal. Techa Penachiero was one of the best passers in WNBA and was fun to watch. If these women actually tried to get better maybe people would watch because I don't think any five currently can beat that Womens team from the Martin episode. r.i.p Nikki McCray

A decent boys HS team would destroy a WNBA team. They might be similar size, but the boy's will be stronger and quicker. Imagine the best WNBA team playing against a team with a young LeBron or Kobe, Kevin Garnett, Moses Malone, Daryl Dawkins, Shawn Kemp, etc etc.
