I miss this time. I was 14. Had a great childhood. The world today has gotten a lot meaner. Social media has destroyed a lot of relationships.

I was born decades after this aired. It’s so weird watching this, in a lot of ways we have improved but in a lot of ways our quality of life has significantly declined. The internet is the closest we will ever have to a Time Machine.

OMG! The infamous Rangers' Sassoon commercial at 29:57! I remember that during this time, whenever the Blueshirts had a bad game at MSG, some in the crowd would sing "Ooh, la la, you suck!"
@fromthesidelines7 күн бұрын
29:58- After a few months, they had to change the pronounciation of "Sassoon" because of protests from Vidal Sassoon and his attorneys. It became *"Sa-SOHN".*

14:10- "THE LIFE AND TIMES OF EDDIE ROBERTS" {"L.A.T.E.R."} taped 65 episodes. Hoever, Channel 5 pulled out after only a few weeks and restored repeats of "M*A*S*H" at 11pm.

Keep up the good work! I hope you have, or at least find, the ad to pianist Irving Fields' TV album 50 Songs You'll Always Love (released c. 1977-78).

Thanks! 🙂 There's a good chance I'll come across it. I still have about 10 boxes of beta tapes to go through that were recorded from late 70s through early 80s so if I come across it I'll definitely post it for you. So it's a music commercial?
@prycerobertson46952 жыл бұрын
@@meredith_vintage Yep. I've never seen it but I have seen print ads quoting the commercial ("Piano music never sounded so good!").

@@meredith_vintage Thanks, you're very kind! That was the era of my childhood. I'd love to see even the bumpers that Channel 5 used to use for Woody Woodpecker, Spider-Man, etc.

Just curious…. What’s the difference between Beta and VHS 📼 tapes as far as the quality in their video quality goes?! Thanks for sharing these videos!❤
@robertroche6717 ай бұрын
I'm no expert, but my college teacher in my media class told us that beta was actually of higher quality. It's what the TV news stations used to use before digital. Beta was also more expensive, so that's why the VCR industry used VHS tapes instead.@@adrianlyord5300
