I was driving down the road the other day. I saw a very expensive construction pickup on the road with a chain dragging from the axel. Obviously the truck was being repaired and the owner failed to remove the chain. If the chain would have got under the tire the damage could have been catistrophic. I wanted to do the right thing and get out and warn him. However in this day and age when everyone is assumed to be a threat I did not take any action because people like Kevin Monahan. Walking up to a stranger on the road, even trying to help is a recipe for disaster. Does not pay to be a good neighbor these days.

Not that many years ago either the neighborhood or the relatives and friends of the victim wouldnt have called the police until that murderer got justiced by the people. Its a good thing that justice got served by the system, but stupid people like him oughta keep in mind that we, as a society, are not that far from taking justice by our own hands. Tolerance tends to get confused by weakness when in reality it shows the strenght of a society willing to overcome their basic instincts for the betterment of their nation, but when the pendulum goes too far, its guaranteed to come back with a vengeance, and theres not enough police forces to protect criminals from the ire and raw rage of the people, there never was and never will. The police is there not just to protect us, but also to protect you from the people, you better believe it, to heart.
