Despite everyone's issues with the game, I'd still say this game is a pretty good game. Sure, while the weapons don't change your play style as much as they should, I think it's important to remember that getting special versions of the base weapons can drastically change how you fight since special weapons have unique martial arts.

I was working on a similar build focusing on fatal strikes, but with the two main stats being water and metal. The plain being to set up ice traps, then poison with magic or spirit, followed by pole dancing using the Monkey's Wisdom skill to build up to a fatal strike, but after seeing the NG+ damage... Ya I may go with your build. Thanks for taking the time to test and put together these builds. I really hope we are getting more ways to deal damage without needing to spam stun cheese going forward. Let's hope we don't get to hell or hell difficulty by DLC 3.

@raphaelmaciel3986 The weapon and gear is the same as PWAR's the main difference being spells and stats. Use venomous discharge or snake spirit and lead enemies into the frozen spear trap spells you set up, then if or when they stager use Monkey's wisdom skill on staff to break spirit and hit a fatal strike. The other spell slots can be used for buffs or stealth. Life wither is a good spell to use in boss fights. I've only just started putting it together recently, so I haven't had a chance to test it in NG+ yet. I'd say use PWAR's build, it looks like the stronger one. I'm sure PWAR will make a better poison and/or water build soon.

You're right bro, Water and Metal is much better in this build. I can spam 3 Ominous Chill on bosses even on first game and i can cheese it long range. The Bulldozer Build is wow but just spamming spirit attack with stone enchant or ice enchant gives you easy win.

Wo Long has been easier than Nioh in general, so I was hoping the stat calculation vs the ramp up is more impartial, so we don’t need to just rely on just stacking damage stats, set bonuses, and buffs and one shotting everything (and being one-shot).

I'm basically using a new game version of this build. You should use the fire buff that doubles damage on martial arts, I can't remember the name but with it I literally one shot human spirit then I rebuff , take the fatal blow, then one shot again on wake up.

You're back at it with the mad scientists builds lol. I'm currently farming graces myself, It's neat that they made a set for every Virtue type but there's one in particular I'm farming for to try. That's the Skyward Majesty set that has a five piece bonus that gives bonuses for having three Virtues within 5 points of each other. I'm dying to know what the bonuses are lol.

@@DeltaUK57170 It slightly adds to virtue bonuses and was pretty disappointing. It might be better in future DLC if we get more Virtue points. I'm currently using the Lingbao set which adds 15% extra damage for having 3 debuffs on an enemy.

What A agility gives is infinite dodge, faster spirit delay recover and raw recover time aside from using less spirit for deflects as well. What governs deflect speed is intirely the weapon. Its pretty much similar to Nioh 2 ki recover. So, even IF you will only deflect you can spam more deflect and literally keep dodging eternally certain attacks and use more skills in a faster pace. A tank should be used more if you are getting used to the boss patterns and will focus on physical attacks more or less.

@@zaf9286 yes, all gear is obtainable in ng. i showed who to raise the bond of to get the set and weapon. for accessories just use 4 star versions. some spells have to be unlocked but should unlock all spells around chapter 4-6.

based off the damage i was taking against lu bu in ng+, definitely possible. not red attacks, but everything else. when i get to graces that'll be the plan, tho you can use the stone roar and go high hp for thicc. but probably have to go different wpn unless okay with dealing lower dmg with guding.

This is just personal preference but with the build I prefer to swap out Inferno for absorb vitality that way if I do get hit absorb Vitality will easily regenerate my HP between all the Fatal strikes and martial arts attacks

Can you explain what gear/where to farm has the skills you've attached from? For example, I cannot find Spirit vulnerability on any items and I've hoarded all my gear and am at the finial boss. Same with Stone enchant. I have none of these skills available. Is there a farm area for the possibility? I just don't understand if it's RNG or if these should just be available or where to even try to find armor or weapons that have these skills.

You can't straight outplay your enemies as well like in nioh parrying and leading an enemy aside while slicing there back open to follow up with a quick sheath draw followed by the front flip attack with the latana for example it just works sooooo well the combat is ridiculously fluid compared to wu long

Because in this game the core gameplay loop is identical regardless of which weapon you use. attack -> deflect -> spirit attack -> rinse and repeat. There is no different playstyle between the different weapons (unlike Nioh 2 where you can play hit n run with hatchet, attack and retreat with kusa, chain combos with fists, etc). The weapons also don't have any skill tree with dozens of very different skills, just some generic martial arts (that have super low damage, gets interrupted easily, and many aren't even unique to that weapon type).

Im at max level at the end of first playthrough. It is 150, and you only get 149 stat points. At best, you can balance and plan 3 elements at high stats. At worst, you're gonna have an extra element or two that suck, cuz you only have pennies left to give. Being able to balance 4, or even all 5 elememts will be possible when they up the level cap to 300 in post game and dlc. Assuming they follow tier usual level cap track record.

You can use lead tiger if you got those rare enchant from salvage and slot it in your armor choices, pwar use the light armor mostly for that power drop enchant and maybe a lil bit of those proc aillments I myself use the lead tiger set, my rare enhancements as for now is power gain on MA, dmg amplify on wiz, spirit vulnerability on MA and damage reduction on deflect, you can also use caocao set to get those slow and spirit vulnerability on set effecta

for dmg. you get dmg amp, and 13% dmg against enemies with debuffs. that's the main reason. the power drop is the only thing that makes the armor usable safely tho, if it didn't have that i would have used something else. there also comes a point where more spirit dmg is wasted, since you break so easily already, so more dmg for fatal strikes is better for killing faster.

Is there a weapon that has innate STONE ENCHANT? The Cavalry Halberd naturally has Flame Enchant, so you can just roll it off and put it on what you need it on, but I cant find anything with Stone Enchant.

normal question. rarities can't be upgraded. so it's like, farm for the 4 star, then upgrade + level. 3 star can be okay, but don't go to +8-9, waste of mats. rarities effect how much stats an item has. but if you get the sets i mentioned from the bond thing, then you always get the 4 star version, tho everything is +0 so its a lot of upgrading to +9

the final piece gives 12.9% dmg increase against negative effects. all other sets are like 7% dmg increase, so technically better, and you get status accumulation and duration. also you dont want martial arts dmg, most of your dmg is from fatal strikes which MAD does not increase

If you're using the blade doesn't that mean you can't get full set bonus with armor since that needs the staff to fulfill it? So you don't actually get the 13% extra damage.

Power Drop is accessible via embed effects though, including Deflect ones and Martial Art ones - don’t think it’s ever worth getting it from a set.

lol yes, actually WAY STRONGER. here's one of my classics that got nerfed TO THE GROUND. we had perma living weapon: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jWbVl4ptrNSmjsk bulldozer is mostly just abusing spirit damage, but nioh 1-2 you could outright 1 shot enemies which is way better. toward end of nioh 2 after dlcs game did become a ki break fiesta, which is what they seem to want to continue here.

I feel like the spirit guage is the only HP bar. In Sekiro you could still damage enemies at a normal rate but were rewarded if you had the skills to max out their stamina bar. In Wo Long I feel like the only viable option is to attack the spirit guage

Huh? Sekiro is pretty much the same. I think you do way more damage to HP in Wo-long. Sekiro 100% relies on deathblows. In wo-long you can actually deplete hp.

usually anything with "minus -" = you. things that effect you. things that say "plus +" effect the enemy. so spirit damage +4% means you deal more spirit damage. spirit damage -4% means you take less spirit dmg.

how to get Spirit Vulnerability on Enemy Upon Martial Arts ? i can't seem to find it on any of my weapons

Its random you can find it on purple or yellow gear and extract from it

How do you get the spirit vulnerability stat? Mines is grayed out.

you have to find it randomly on a gear piece, then salvage it. its a purple stat, so its rare, and one use only, unlike the white or red icons.

Have you compared this sword to the Vermillion Bird Axe? it has a very similar martial art. Just curious if that might be a viable alternative for those of us who love big axe bros.

i've tried and compared dmg and spirit dmg for most skills, and going by the pic its a no. heaven divine/divide did big dmg and spirit dmg, think its axe.
