The song is about his sister struggling with addiction while his mother was dying from cancer. The mother was more concerned with getting Jenny better than taking care of herself.

There's a real tragic story behind this song. "Jenny" is the lead singers sister, who was so horribly addicted to drugs and there was nothing him or his dying mother could do to help her. "She stuck around for you", referring to his now deceased mother. I got to chat with their singer after their show with Periphery and he's really such a wonderful human being.

okay okay so you guys want more interesting rock? you got it! here's a few suggestions i have: Satan in the Wait - Daughters These guys are like a noise rock band and I know their last album got a lot of traction because of Anthony Fantano. They are a little out their for me but honestly this song is so weird and different and I think this might scratch that itch for interesting rock. How Do You Know It's Not Armadillo Shells - Hot Mulligan These guys are like emo rock/pop punk and this song is just super cool in my opinion and shows off the uniqueness of this band. Definitely more conventional than Daughters but still cool nonetheless. Blood Money - Poppy Not going to lie, Poppy has released one of my favorite albums of 2020. It's genuinely interesting as no two songs on the album sound similar. It has elements of rock/metal, electronic music, pop, and all kinds of other stuff and it's honestly just cool as fuck imo.
