He is fantastically good, indeed! He is already a reference in classical piano. It is pretty shallow to judge Music by appearances. Speaking of "eccentricites" , he is very respectful with the composer's wishes. Actually, there are a number of recognized pianists that just disobey the composer's indications in the music sheet. Ah, but they look very dutifully serious while committing the "crime"! 😂

Saludos.

Thank you for this impeccable performance on the parts of all concerned, conductor, orchestra and soloist! So happy to have discovered Lang Lang. His total imersion in the music leaves me almost breathless. He has an impressive ability to bring all the themes into focus, explaining what Mozart wanted to express. I also love the way he plays in conversation with the orchestra, rather than treating them like a backdrop to his playing. I am humbled by and grateful for his deep dedication to his art. And deeply grateful that this is made accessible for us all on KZbin! What abundance for us all! ❤❤❤

I am (correction, was) not a fan. However, this is so refreshing - the use of pianissimo and piano for much of the first and last (and of course, middle) movements, leading the orchestra into subtlety, is so elegant. Lovely performance.

Amazing interpretation. The 1st cadence is from Hummel and it is an amazing choice.
@YueLi-vw4rg8 ай бұрын
Hi, erm...I'm just interested in Lang's interpretation. Could you tell me which musical work of Hummel did Lang borrow the cadenza from?
@JorgeRzezak8 ай бұрын
@@YueLi-vw4rg Hummel wrote the cadenza especially for this concerto, there are different cadenzas written for the same concerto, I would believe that the most famous is Beethoven's cadenza. At the time of Mozart, Mozart did not write his cadenzas because that part was improvised every time he plaid it. If you pay attention, you can hear a kind of Chopin in Hummel's cadenza, and that is because Chopin probably as a child listened and liked Hummel's work. BTW, Hummel probably wrote the cadenza more than 20 or 30 years after Mozart died, and because is beautiful it remained as a wanted cadenza selection for playing the concerto.
