I was in New York and walked into a sneakers store hunting for rare Jordans. When I told the sales person that am originally from Kenya, he asked me if I knew Enda. To be honest I told him I don’t know that brand. To my surprise, he told me that’s a sneaker label from Kenya. That’s when I heard Enda for the first time. Unfortunately they were not selling the shoes in their store. But I was so proud to hear a Nike store salesman talk of Kenyan brand.

She said "If you create the opportunities, you find the people with the skills" . This goes deeper especially in African countries where opportunities are scarce but the Youth population and potential working class is steadily increasing. We need to create opportunities which would in turn motivate people to learn skills for available opportunities. An environment that stimulates productivity is bound to grow exponentially. Unfortunately there are multiple historical constraints impeding this structure in the African clime and we need to dismantle these constraints one at a time. Much love to this beautiful intelligent Kenyan entrepreneur❤

As a marathon runner, I have a different outlook on what she said. Instead of focusing on the elite athletes like the big shoe companies do, rather market to us recreational runners. There are many of us casual runners who would love to support a brand like this. In case the lady reads this, please specify on your website what each shoe is for: eg, casual/gym, trail running, 5k to 10k, half marathon, or marathon+. Basic info to help us choose what to buy.

This is how African should promote each other, by loving each other and know that together our problems are solved, because we are all suffering from one oppression, one imperialism so together we can achieve more, together we can dictate world to respect us.
