Politics apart, all based on senses and that feeling of her aura , non-verbal language, body language etc. You know, race is not only skin colour. I haven't been in the USA - yet. To me, it is weird and very artificial, when American people call somebody to be white, when in my eyes he/she has nothing to do with whites. It looks to me Americans judge the skin colour predominantly for such racial conclusions and nothing else. How many "Carthaginians" were of Phoenician ancestry is hard to calculate, as most of the people living in and around Carthage would have come from North Africa - they were referred to as "Libyans" at the time. I'd guess most of the core population of the Carthaginian empire would be North African as colonists and settlers are always a minority. Look at England. We had the Norman conquest in 1066, but the Norman French were a tiny ruling/military minority and the European (white) English population today is overwhelmingly of Celtic, German (Anglo-Saxon) and Danish genetic heritage. So, although the Normans dominated the country, changed the language and culture, the basic genetics of the populations didn't change much at all.

However, her husband was White. So it's both, the Mulattos from before Emancipation come from White admixture outside of consent, some Mulattos from after the war had chose White partners.

Im a family genealogist. For years I knew that my 9th great grandfather William Vassel owned trading ships, his daughter married a Mayflower passenger, and owned sugar plantations in the Bahamas. His father donated 3 fully manned ships to help Queen Elizabeth I win against the Spanish Armada. When I googled his name, only glowing reports came up on line. Then I took a course on American slavery history and it occurred to me that Ships and Bahama sugar plantations involve slaves. So, I googled his name but this time ALSO added the words 'slaves and slave trade'. To my shock, many articles popped up writing that Vassel was a slave trader in addition to owning sugar plantations. I am descended from a man who used his own ships to buy slaves in West Africa, sell some in the Bahamas in exchange for rum, then stop in Boston, England, and back to West Africa. No wonder he was so successful.

His nephew, Francis Drake, essentially became a pirate, actually one of the most successful pirates in history. When he eventually returned to England, his ship was so full of gold that it was nearly sinking. When napoleon failed to conquer Russia, his army was fleeing and the Russian army was chasing it all the way back to France. Not to mention that napoleons army was also consisting of Italian, Spanish, Polish, Swiss, Austrian and Prussian regiments, while the Russian army was only Russians with a bit of financial help from Britain. I don’t deny that while the napoleon army was fleeing back, some rebel European armies were trying to join and help the Russian army, but it wasn’t the joint effort from the beginning and those armies were pretty small in comparison.

@@MarkLee1 one correction though they could't chase napoleon all the way back they only pursued him upto the polish border.After that they couldn't keep on pursuing him due to the massive casualties the russians also suffered.Also napoleon fumbled hard with the truce of Plaswitz in 1813, he was close to cutting of the russian army's line of retreat and austria was yet to completely enter the 6th coalition.The nine week gap essentially allowed the coalition to buildup even more numbers against napoleon

man those werent exactly "colonies" they were called "territories de ultramar", basically the same as the canary islands, but meant for far away places, the anglos started calling these spanish territories "colonies" for propaganda reasons bc they hated spain, and they knew they could get their share promoting independence movements and steal all the wealth that was in the mainland.
