"Andor" is diverse. Look at the cast. It just wasn't shoved down your throat or put as the number one reason for the show to exist in the first place. And do you know what it does have that "The Acolyte" doesn't? Outstanding acting, a great, thoughtful plot, characters you really care about, and without question some of the best writing out there, not just for Star Wars shows, but of any kind. And it does all this while significantly adding to Star Wars lore and cannon for the better. It honors the original vision of the franchise without taking away from it constantly. Mike is totally correct. Just as one example, compare gems of writing in "The Acolyte" like "attack me with all your strength!", followed by the nonsensical garbage in the scene that follows, to something like Luther's monologue in "Andor". One sounds like it was written by somebody in high school, and the other sounds like something written by one of the best movie and TV writers working anywhere today. The difference is staggering. But, yeah, the fan response is probably only about people being bigoted and racist. Clearly. I'm sorry, but these people are idiots that have spent so long living in an echo chamber, all the time surrounded by people that don't want to say anything offensive to them because of, uh, reasons, that they don't know they are talentless hacks. So, let me see if I’ve got this straight: Leslye Headland announce that they are going to create a show that they will identify as “Star Wars”, but that will reject and repudiate everything about the already richly developed fictional universe and internal history, logic, physics, and canon of the franchise, and that they reject and want nothing to do with the vision and legacy of the franchise creator, George Lucas-the vision and legacy that are the things that made “Star Wars” successful in the first place. Headland and Kennedy went out of their way to state on several occasions that they were going to ignore what the audience wants to see-the customers they have to appeal to, the people who pay the ticket prices and the streaming service subscriptions that pay the bills and make it possible for them to have work-and instead concentrate on letting their “creatives” tell their own personal stories, regardless of the opinions and desires of the audience, simply demanding that the audience accept what they are given and like it. Leslye Headland, displaying an abysmal ignorance of “Star Wars” despite claiming to be a “fan”, went out of her way to hire writers and actors who are also abysmally ignorant about all things “Star Wars”, apparently conflating ignorance with having no “bias”, instead of simply being ignorance, thus ensuring that the production she is creating would have virtually nothing to do with “Star Wars” in any significant sense, save only for props and buzzwords like “light saber”, “Jedi”, “the Force”, and the franchise title itself, “Star Wars”. Leslye Headland, backed up by Kathleen Kennedy, made it very clear that her production was going to be “by women, for women”, that it was not for men, and that it was going to be crammed as full as possible with LGBTQIA+ actors and characters, completely sociopolitical/sociosexual identity politics agenda and narrative focused, with as many gay men, gay women, non-binary propel, trans people, body positivity (obese) people, Asian people, and people of color, in order to be diverse and inclusive-with the exception of including much in the way of alien species and, of course, competent and intelligent cis-gendered heterosexual white males. Leslye Headland and Kathleen Kennedy initiated an ongoing attack against the fanbase of the “Star Wars” language, deploying irrational and indefensible SIGN language-Shaming, Insults, Guilt, and the Need to be right regardless of the evidence of reality to the contrary-in an effort to guilt and shame fans and critics into silence and marginalize them, while blaming the failure of the show on the “loud tiny minority of opinionated fans” when the numbers made it clear that it was in fact a majority, and claiming that the huge numbers of fans that would undoubtedly love their production were afraid to speak up and were remaining silent and not liking the production due to the criticism of the so-called “minority”, thus insulting THOSE audience members by openly implying they are weak-minded and easily led like sheep. Lucasfilm released two trailers for the production which failed miserably, achieving record negative ratios in numbers far too large to be seriously dismissed as coming from a “minority”, each hitting the ground with a sickening splat, which Headland and Kennedy promptly attempted b,and upon patriarchy, misogyny, and of course, the “toxic male demographic”, despite failing to present any concrete evidence to support their accusations. “The Acolyte” released onto the streaming service to objectively dismal audience review numbers, which which became increasingly dismal in very short order until a targeted campaign of positive review bombing began in order to drive the numbers up, all of those positive reviews coming from new accounts and having an uncanny resemblance to each other, posting reviews that match nearly word for word, and yet still only managing to increase the low of 26% on the Rotten Tomatoes site a measly six percentage points to 32% despite their efforts. Headland and Kennedy, assisted by media outlets well known and established to be Disney shills, continued their attack on the fans and wider audience, claiming once again the negative reviews and growing backlash to be the result of patriarchy, misogyny, the “toxic male demographic”. In the course of all these shaming and insulting attacks against the audience and fan base, combined with the poor production quality and the lack of entertainment value of nearly all Disney “Star Wars” productions, IN PARTICULAR this one, the show that is the most man-hating production to date, Leslye Headland and Kathleen Kennedy have gone out of their way to offend and alienate the very people they are completely dependent upon for their show to have any chance to succeed. “The Acolyte” appears to be headed for an impact along side the failed trailers, this time however certain to crater and not merely splat, an outcome Headland and Kennedy appear to be themselves anticipating, to judge by their now hysterical and desperate ramping up of their shaming and insults against the wider audience and the core fan base contained with that audience, blaming them for the failure of the show. Leslye Headland and Kathleen Kennedy are blaming the fan base, the wider more casual audience, the patriarchy, misogyny, homophobia, transphobia-pretty much any -ist, any -ism, and any -phobia they can think of, in an hysterical attempt to divert blame for the poor story, the poor script writing, the stilted dialogue, the wooden and lackluster performances of the actors, and the mediocre to poor quality of the show, on anyone and anything the can except themselves, refusing to accept personal responsibility or to be accountable for the mediocre, offensively agenda-packed mess they have created, and the negative criticism and negative backlash it is creating. According to Leslye Headland, to Kathleen Kennedy, and to Disney/LucasFilm, it is all mens fault. It is ALWAYS mens fault. Somehow, the reason for the failure of “The Acolyte” appears to be a mystery to Headland and Kennedy, completely inconceivable to them. Did I miss anything? Did I leave out any salient point?

I'm incredibly disappointed in Dave Filoni. He had the opportunity to defend Star Wars as it was under George Lucas. It's obvious to me that Kathleen Kennedy has no intentions of keeping the old school fans on board. Star Wars was a huge part of my childhood and even early adult years. Like so many first-generation Star Wars fans, this movie series had a tremendous impact on my own creative style and vision. And it appears that Kathleen Kennedy, whose career was made on the coattails of George Lucas and Steven Spielberg, has no appreciation for those of us who made Star Wars what it is. She obviously hates the fanbase and wants nothing to do with us. She's ungrateful and I don't know if I will ever be able to see her in the positive light that I once did in her early career.
