Very cool brother !!! Looked like it worked out well for the overnighter ! Just a matter of time now . I’m always amazed at how dark it gets in the woods . If you had things walking around and not spooking off you are doing something right . Thanks for sharing

That’s my thoughts exactly. The coyotes walking right in front of my blind was a key indicator that I’ll be golden for a Wolf to step out. I find Yotes are more skiddish than Wolves believe it or not.

Hi buds you could have a black bear in to your bait after dark as you probably already know! Them critters like to work all night in the dark! Love your videos, you remind me of me when I was your age. Love your enthusiasm!!!! Keep up with your great work it will pay you dividends! 😊 your friend uncle Bruce! 👍

Oh 100%, we’ve had such warm weather as of late, but now we got about 3 feet of snow. The bears are out down south but not up north (yet). I appreciate the love my friend - I thoroughly love the bush & anything in it, whether it’s hunting or just exploring!!!! It means a lot to me when someone appreciates my enthusiasm… I just want to be myself & hope I inspire people to get outdoors too!

Those wolves are tough.. I found they come out at night. Around 1 to 2a.m Seen many in Madsen. They come in to try and take out dogs. My border collie is pretty tough, she fought one off and had a couple small holes in her back. They eventually moved on..
@PatterningNature2 ай бұрын
Thank you Ash!! I hope you are well my friend - If you ever want to run into a Wolf pack... Hang around Parker creek between Suffel Lake Road & the mouth of Parker as it flows into Red Lake itself... Of course we are talking during the winter... But be careful near that portage, as you come into Parker Creek off Red Lake, to the left of you (East) is typically open water, but its a good 400+ yards away from the portage so you're golden. That would most likely be the same pack that roams Starrat Olsen & have a den up on the giant ridge just west of Starrat. Some old logging trails in there.

One suggestion I would have is put some camouflage mesh over the windows would be a lot quieter . What size are your windows I might have some I could send you.
@PatterningNature7 ай бұрын
Hmm, that’s actually an amazing idea LOLLL The windows are about 12 by 12 inch square, maybe a bit smaller but roughly that!!! By all means you don’t gotta send me anything brother!!!! But if you insist, go ahead & I will 100% toss the camp mesh up & then I’ll cut the window flaps right off so I don’t have to touch any tarp & make noise!!

Thank you sir!!!! Never taken a Wolf with a bow, so I figured I’d dedicate this bait site to archery only. It’s gonna take a lot of luck & time to have a Wolf make a mistake & get stuck with an arrow but I’m willing to get’r done!

Can you not use a thermal spotter to record activity ?
@PatterningNature7 ай бұрын
I replied to your other comment as well - But yeah we can use thermal imaging to record night activity, we just cannot hunt at night in Canada, unless its for Raccoons but even then you need to hunt with dogs & only use a .22

Roughly 25 yards, on a slight incline uphill towards the bait - the wind is always blowing right into my blind so scent seems to be no issue, just timing at this point!

@PatterningNature7 ай бұрын
I’ve thought about buying some infrared goggles off Amazon - Franklin has a pair & he can see across a medium sized lake at night at wolves… it’s neat to watch them feed, but we cannot hunt at night so it’s strictly for viewing purposes sadly.
