I like this format: On location at a Wolfe Ridge owner. I can see some future "micro-product shows" in different locations where a few 'Woodhounds' in the same area could gather to see products demonstrated / tested. This also greatly inceases Seller - buyer relationship. Great job, Bob!

Cool video Brent and Bob! That splitter is a beast! I’m with Brent on the 2x4 wedge. Especially like you said if you have smaller diameter rounds you will get more out of the center slots. That was awesome you left the wedge for Brent! Good stuff Bob👊🏻

Thanks for finally making this video. That 4.5x4.5 looks like it would be perfect for furnace wood. Just like most of my customers like.

Man, that 4.5 x 4.5 is quick and had best looking wood imo. Good show guys

Good video showcasing the different box wedge configurations 👍 I like his stacking in the totes, looks like it makes the bundle making more efficient.

I like the bigger pieces, also like how the box doesn’t ride up hen you start splitting, I’ve seen others hat the box raises as you load it up making tapered firewood.

Thanks for coming out for a day of testing and splitting Bob. It’s always a great day in the woodyard with help. Looking forward to the Midwest Firewood Frenzy on June 22, and maybe running a few of these wedges again for the folks in attendance. Still putting the 2x4 wedge through its paces, I’m liking it the more I run it. Have a great day Around the Yard! Brent

The 3" wedge makes absolutely perfect sizes in my opinion. I know my customers would prefer those!

I like that 4.5. Perfect firewood but not for bagging.

Having never run with a box wedge, I like the clean quick results from the 4x4, yeah you will have to do a few re-splits for a smoker but, 90% will go right into a fireplace or firepit for me.

Great demonstration 👍 It’s too bad the box wedge cannot go on the regular wedge designed machines.

The difference in engine load over the 6 different types, was very noticeable. I can see someone wanting the 5" for outdoor boiler wood. . The 4" would work for are insert, its an above average size. And the bigger wood would make a little less junk and burn a little longer. . Im thinking the 2 smallest prototypes, need a little more adjusting in my opinion.

I think those smaller wedges put so much more stress on everything. For me it would be the stock wedge.

I think you would be better off with a box wedge you can adjust high or low to get ride of alot of that chaft/waste weather you let that last run go a touch bigger or split the difference and go smaller with the top and bottom last split.
@WolfeRidgeSplitters3 ай бұрын
Thanks, we just like the consistency with the non adjustable box wedge. It doesn't float up like some other machines out there.
@jimmieburleigh95493 ай бұрын
@@WolfeRidgeSplitters yeah I like the flat top better that other brands. I was just thinking about saving on waste if you could hydraulically adjust it like your other wedges As always no offense guys.
